(Asriel's POV)
The autumn season had passed quite quickly, and it had snowed last night. It was December 18th, and the most wonderful day was fast approaching. That day of which I speak is Christmas. I was excited for the season, not just because of the gifts, but because of the cheer and the time we get to spend with our loved ones.
At that moment, we were helping Asgore get ready for something which he liked to do every holiday season: Dress up as Santa Claus and listen to the other monster children's Christmas wishes.
"You look just splendid, Gorey," Toriel replied once Asgore got his suit on.
Goat Dad checked himself out in the mirror. "Thank you all for helping me make this possible every year," he said. He then practiced his Santa laugh, letting out a hearty, "Ho ho ho!"
Aria smiled broadly at her our father. "You'll do just wonderful!" She said excitedly. "I just know you will!"
All of us knew that Asgore liked dressing up as Santa every Christmas season. He definitely was a king you could get to know on a more personal level, that's for sure! Even after monsters reached the surface, Asgore still dressed as Santa. It was kind of a tradition, and besides, I'm sure that he felt like the monster kids would be more comfortable with someone familiar to them dressed as the Santa.
"And you look just adorable in that elf suit, Asriel," Toriel said.
I had almost forgotten that this year, I was going as one of Santa's elves. I looked myself up and down in the mirror. Admittedly, I looked a little ridiculous, but the costume would help me look the part.
"Toriel's right, Azzy," Frisk said. "I'm certain you and Dad will do a great job at this."
I smiled. "Thank, Frisk. I know I asked to do this, but I'm still a little nervous about this. I've never done it before."
"But you're still excited to try, aren't you?" Chara asked.
I nodded. Meanwhile, Asgore was putting the finishing touches on his attire. Now he really looked the part, with the beard, hat, suit, belt, boots, and sack full of little bags, each filled with hot chocolate mix, assorted candy canes, two holiday pencils, and two holiday pencil toppers.
"You ready, son?" Asgore asked me.
I nodded. "Ready as I'll ever be." Both of us headed out the door into the chilly winter air.
==========
(Asgore's POV, 4 days later)
It was nice to see the little ones and listen to their Christmas wishes. I'm certain they loved getting their picture taken with Santa. As for me, I enjoyed the little ones' company. Asriel and I did this for four days. Asriel did a really good job!
"I'm going to miss speaking to the little ones," I said solemnly, putting my Santa suit away.
Frisk smiled at me. "Don't be sad because it's over," they said reassuringly. "Smile because it happened. Remember that. Okay, Goat Dad?"
I smiled at my little one. They always seemed to look on the bright side of things, and I loved them for it.
"Besides, you'll be doing this next year!" They said.
I chuckled at that part. "I understand, Frisk."
Both of us heard Toriel calling us to the living room, so the two of us headed there.
"Now kids," Toriel said, "have you decided what you want for Christmas from me and King Fluffybuns?"
Asriel nodded. "I'd like the LEGO Star Wars Major Vonreg's TIE Fighter set." I had seen a bit of Star Wars Resistance, just enough to see that TIE fighter in action, but to me, it was still a TIE Interceptor. It just looked like one, and to be honest, the Black Ace TIE Interceptor kind of threw me off. I sometimes find myself waiting for a discovery that Major Vonreg's TIE and the Black Ace's TIE's names were switched accidentally.
