(Chara's POV)

I woke up this lovely Saturday morning with a smile. I walked in front of the mirror, still smiling, and said three famous words:

"I'm super depressed!"

I snorted at that saying. I'm sorry, but I couldn't take it seriously, especially when one smiles while saying that.

I pulled off my pajamas, and grabbed an outfit consisting of blue denim and a red T-shirt with sleeves a slightly darker shade of red and the following words in black lettering: Fight me. I dare you.

I grabbed my Heart Locket and looked at it. The gold chain and heart were still intact, even after all these years. The heart had "best friends forever" engraved on it. I opened up the Locket to see the picture of the precious goat boi.

Sure enough, the locket still held a picture of Asriel Dreemurr. When Frisk had borrowed the Heart Locket during their journey in the Underground, the picture of Asriel showed him at 7 years old. Since Azzy and I came back, the pictures in our Lockets were updated regularly. The current picture showed him at 16 years, one year older than Frisk and myself, who were only 15. In the current photo, Asriel was taller, slightly more muscular, and had horns. He wore a self-confident smile, but everyone who truly knows Asriel knows him for the floofy gote he is. He's kind like Mom, a floofy pushover, and still as emotionally sensitive as he was at 7.

"Chara?"

I turned at the sound of Prince Floofybuns's voice. He wore grey sweatpants a blue T-shirt with grey sleeves and a picture of an armored-up Powermaster Optimus Prime on the front. There was also some Japanese lettering on it.

"What are you wearing?" I asked. "You usually don't wear blue, and I don't remember you wearing Optimus Prime T-shirts."

Asriel looked offended. "First off, Alphys made it for me. Secondly, this is NOT Powermaster Optimus Prime with the Apex Armor on him. It's God Ginrai! Can't you read Japanese?"

I glared at Asriel. He glared back for a few moments before Frisk, having woken up to the sound of our arguing, intervened.

"I don't think we should start the morning off fighting," they said, pushing us apart. "Chara, please apologize to Asriel for insulting Asriel's outfit."

"Why should I?" I asked. "He—"

Frisk glared at me, their eyes opening up further to reveal crimson irises. "Now."

I sighed dramatically. "Fine," I said. Turning to Asriel, I said, "Sorry for questioning your outfit choices, and for calling God Ginrai by the name Optimus Prime."

Asriel smiled at me. "I forgive you," he said. He chuckled as he added, "But if you think I don't like hearing Ginrai being called Optimus Prime, you definitely don't want to make that mistake in front of Alphys."

I laughed as I remembered how I told Alphys, one day, that I preferred Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2 to the original. She was ranting for 10 minutes straight about how the sequel "tarnished Mew Mew's reputation even worse than when air tarnishes silver, forming black silver sulfide stains." Needless to say, I never wanted to go through that again.

Asriel and I left Frisk alone to give them some privacy as they got dressed.

"Still have your Heart Locket?" Asked Asriel.

I nodded. "You?"

Asriel reaches under his shirt and pulled out an identical locket. He opened it up to reveal a picture of me.

"We made so many memories together, Chara," he said. "Both good and bad."

I nodded.

"And now that Frisk and Aria are parts of our family, I think we should do something to include them in our 'best friends' circle. Don't you agree?"
