Chapter 13

Blakes POV

Today is going to be jammed pact with meetings today. I have a very important one this morning. It is 6:37am on a Monday morning, Kiara got up about an hour ago and headed down to the temple to work on some things. I wanted for her to stick around and attend the meeting so she can get a feel for how things will be like when the Alpha role is appointed to her when its time, but I have to realize that she's only 16 and she needs to focus on being a teenager before she has all this responsibility. My meeting is made for 7:00am this morning with the King of supernatural, David Royal. He's coming all the way from Alaska over in the States. Little distance from Canada but there's some important contracts that need to be renewed and with the way things are right now, we need to be alert with our territory. Mia had to go down and do some things with the pups because they start their beta training so its just me handling all the meetings and as of for contracts that need to be signed, the last person to sign them was when Victor was in command so it was better to have a male Alpha's signature.

"Jamie, can you please come to the office real quick before king David shows up for the meeting?" I mindlinked.

"I'll be right there, Alpha." She replied.

I sat at my desk signing and looking over some of the assassin contracts that were completed so we could hand them over to David. In order to get new ones, we need to turn in the completed contracts before our next wolvesbane shipment. When we do assassin contracts, we don't get paid through money. We've made a deal where we are given wolvesbane shipments that will last a month. We have been trying to get our whole pack to become immune to wolvesbane so we can become more strong as a whole. A knock at the door kicked me out of my thoughts.

"You may enter." I called out, not looking up from the papers.

"Yes, Alpha. You needed me?" Jamie walked over to the desk and sat in the chair.

"I need you to summon from the vault. I need the contract between the Royal pack and Darkened Night Howlers. It needs to be renewed during the meeting." I looked up at her.

"Do you just need the contract or did you need the verified witness paper too?" She questioned.

"Just the contract I believe. If I need the other paper, I will mindlink you and let you know." I shuffled all the assassin paperwork together.

I looked at Jamie and she had her eyes closed with her hands up. She was mumbling the summoning spell under her breath and before I knew it, the contract flashed in front of me and appeared on my desk. It was rolled up with a red ribbon with a golden seal tied on it.

"Alpha, King David is here to see you." The pack member at the front gate sent through the link.

"Send him in." I replied.

"You are dismissed, Jamie. King David is here now." I stood up to show Jamie out the door.

"It was a pleasure, Alpha." She said before she just vanished before my eyes.

"It must be nice to not have to walk everywhere." I thought outloud with a chuckle.

As I started to walk towards the office door to greet king David before he reached it, he opened the door and walked in.

"King David, its a pleasure to finally meet you in person." I stuck my hand out to shake his.

"Alpha Blake." He took my hand and gave me a firm handshake.

Usually you would bare your neck to someone as in such a high role as king David is, but with the Darkened Night Howlers, David has no control over us because of the contract and that the fact our pack is and was illegal. It was more normal for our packs to treat each other as accomplices, not having any authority over one another. But treated as equal.
