Kiara's POV

"I'm sorry if my father is so uptight. I don't want you to feel threatened or anything." We walked down one of the man trails by my house.

"No need to apologize. I don't feel threatened by anyone." He squeezed my hands.

We both just watched our surroundings and took in the Canadian woods.

"So, where are we going?" Decebel proceeded to ask.

"We're going to a place that is really important to me. It's my safe haven. I would love to share it with you." I smiled, while staring ahead as we watched the temple get bigger and bigger the closer we got to it.

Decebel let out a sigh and we walked up to the front of the building, I started to descend up the stairs to the front door, I turned and noticed Decebel was standing at the bottom of the stairs.

"Aren't you coming?" I gave him a questioning look.

"I am not aloud to enter this kind of temple." He let out a sigh.

"Does it have to do with HOS?" I looked down at my hands nervously.

"Yes, but if you want me to, I will try to enter." He started to walk up the steps, cautiously.

"You don't have to.." I rubbed my neck, trying to seem not so disappointed.

"I know. Lead the way." He said, as I opened the door to the temple.

I walked in and set down the backpack I was wearing. I could hear a few steps behind me before I heard something fall on the floor. I turned around to see Decebel on the floor, once my eyes met him, I heard a scream come out of his throat. His once tatted arms, turning into burns spreading up his arms and under his shirt to his chest. It was as if he was being set on fire, but with no fire visible.

"DECEBEL!" I yelled dropping on my knees to check on him.

"FUUUCK!!" He yelled.

I quickly got up in a panic, unsure of what to do. I quickly bent down and grabbed his blistered arms and dragged him outside to the big porch that was attached to the side of the temple. Once I got his heavy structure outside, the screams burnt down.

"Oh my god.. this is all my fault." I buried my face into my hands.

"This isn't your fault." Decebel caught his breath with a slight groan.

"Are you okay..?" I asked, rubbing my fingers gently on his hurt skin.

"Yeah, I'll be fine. I'm just glad I at least got to glance at what makes you so happy." Decebel propped up on his elbows and shot me a smile.

I laid down beside him and looked up to the sky. It was beautifully blue, with fluffy clouds like glided across the sky.

"It feel's so good to be back here in Canada. I love being in Alaska and back in the states but nothing feels better than home." I sighed in relief.

"You plan on staying here the rest of your life?" Decebel questioned, looking up at the sky.

"Someone's eventually got to take over, and I'm next in line for it." I shrugged.

"Wait, so you're the next Alpha for the Darkened Night Howlers?" He propped himself up to look at me.

"Yes, and once we're marked, so are you." I propped up to look him in the eyes.
