Jamie's POV
"You can drop me here. Thank you, how much do I owe you?" I looked at the taxi driver.
"Uhh.. Ma'am are you aware this is a long dirt path?" The driver looked at me confused.
"The price?" I looked at him while opening the car door.
"It's going to be $54.36." He held his hand out for the money.
I grabbed some loose bills I had out of my pocket.
"Here's $80. You can keep the rest as a tip. Just pop the trunk so I can grab my suitcase." I pulled myself out the car and walked to the trunk, pulling my suitcase out and pulling the handle up.
I slammed the trunk closed and waved at him to let him know he could continue on his way. I started to pull my suitcase along the dirt path until I saw the big academy start to appear in my vision. The academy has always been well taken care of, and is always one of the beautiful places to be able to see. I was walking down one of the paved path that lead to the main buildings when I saw Kiara and a girl walking beside her.
"Jamie? Oh my god what are you doing here?" Kiara asked before pulling me into a hug.
"Just here for business. Who is your friend?" I asked as we pulled away from the embrace.
"This is Morgan Walker. She's actually my cousin. Morgan, this is Jamie. Our pack witch." Kiara introduced.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Walker." I held my hand out to her.
"It's great to meet you too, Jamie. Although, aren't you a little far from home? What kind of business is it?" Morgan didn't hesitate to ask.
"That dear is confidential." I winked in her direction.
Morgan looked at me in thought. I turned my attention back to Kiara and something.. seemed different and off putting about her. Some reason, I couldn't put my finger on it.
"How's everything going? Things with Decebel I hope are doing good." I smiled at Kiara.
"Yeah.. things are going great. Nothing to complain about." She rubbed her arm.
"Nothing new has happened?" I pressed, trying to figure out the feeling that I was having.
Kiara looked extremely nervous and I was about to ask my question again until Morgan interrupted,
"As nice as this is going, Kiara and I must go work on that thing. She has a big surprise for Blake and Mia that she has been working on." Morgan wrapped her arm around Kiara.
"Yes, we must go do that. It was great seeing you Jamie." Kiara replied before they both started to walk past me in a hurry.
"Kids now a days." I laughed out loud to myself before I continued towards the main building.
I walked into the double doors of the main office to the academy, only to see David Royal standing talking to Austin.
"David Royal." I smiled pulling my suitcase behind me.
"Jamie. I'm glad to see you made it safe. Although, I would have preferred if you would have let me send one of my jets to come receive you." David walked over and grabbed my bag.
"I will definitely take up the offer next time around. Sometimes its nice to just feel like a normal being." I explained.
"Come this way. We can talk more as we walk." David pointed the way down a secured hallway.
"Well then, lets start out with one of the most important questions, shall we?" I started to walk down the hall, the sound of David's footsteps coming up beside me.
