Emily' POV

Damon came and surprised me at my room this morning. When I mean morning, I mean like 4 fucking am. Who the hell wakes up that early besides my psychotic best friend, Kiara?! I of course gave him that good Canadian attitude that I give so well, but he made it up by buying me a coffee and my EVERYDAY MORNING BAGEL. I cant function without having both every morning, well I could. But I promise I'm not the funnest person to be around.

"You feeling better now?" Damon laughed as he sat next to me on the bench in the quart yard, his arm wrapped around me.

"Much." I responded, taking the biggest bite I could out of my breakfast.

"I thought I'd wake up early to come surprise you. I know the coffee shop here can be super busy in the morning." Damon looked off into the distance drinking his nasty black coffee.

"I might just have to start doing this. The bagel is so fresh." I rolled my eyes, the feeling of being content surrounding me.

"Only the best for my woman." He looked at me with a smile.

I blushed at those words. I honestly didn't know how to respond.

"Did you ever think your mate would be a vampire?" He asked, not taking his gaze from me.

"Honestly? No. It's very unheard of around my parts." I looked into his eyes.

"Do you like being apart of Darkened Night Howlers?" He asked another question.

"I actually do. We have great leadership and its so unique. Everyone hears rogue pack and automatically think that we're criminals. But underneath what people say and what they think, its such a diversity between everyone. There's some wolfs that hold great powers and there's some that are like any other werewolf. Yet, nobody passes judgement. We all have a story of what lead us there, so its not like all of us are perfect. We treat each other equal. Alpha Mia's father, was pure genius on creating this pack. It gives the rogues a place to go, when they have nowhere else to go. Not having to fear judgement of their past and what they have done. Good or bad. There's no other pack that I would be as proud to be apart of then this pack." I smiled.

"Yeah, Victor Johnson was a good man when you got past all the flaws and the heinous things that came out of his mouth. He always kept things professional and he protection his own. He was a great leader and he did what he needed to do when it was needed. Even if it was against pack laws." He looked off into the distance.

"You knew Victor Johnson?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Yes, I used to do business with him once upon a time ago. He was a very good friend and allie. I will miss him dearly. I will say, it hasn't been the same without him here. David and him were always going at it about something." Damon explained.

"Do you think David misses him?" I asked.

"I don't know if I would put it like that. Both of them couldn't stand each other and were constantly fighting. Although, I do think over the decades, David has grown bored." Damon laughed.

"It's nice to hear about the one who founded the pack. We don't talk about him, nor does are pack know much about Victor." I sipped my coffee.

"He was a very shut off individual. He didn't talk to much people about anything besides his mate, Bella. She knew everything about him. Sadly, they're both taken from this world. I don't believe that we will ever find out much on him." He sighed.

"That's too bad." I let out a sigh.

We both just sat, drinking our coffees and watched as the sun rises over the horizon.
