Nandini's P. O. V
I peeked through the main door like a kitten and found my way clean.
"Ma'am can I help you?" A manly voice startled me.
I turned swiftly and found one of Manik's men. I sighed in relief. Then I looked at him looking at my ten shopping bags that I'm holding in both my hands.
Oh god! No I'm good!
"Ahhh.....no. It's okay, I don't need help. Thank you for asking" I smiled sweetly.
The man gave me a nervous smile to which I frowned.
"Umm....are you okay? You seem nervous"
The man gulped down visibly and shook his head "N-no....noth-nothing"
This made me curious. I know there is something wrong with him suddenly and though I hate my curious habit I can't help.
I put up a stern face "Are you trying to lie to Nandini Manik Malhotra?"
I can see clear fear evident in his eyes. Poor guy! Did I scared him that much? But all I did was to put up a stern face, what's so scary in that? I don't even look scary like Manik.
I toh look cute na Manik always say. Does he lie? Wait! Nandu dimag kya chor bazar me bech aayi hai? Kaisi baat kar rahi hai! Manik sahi kehta hai tujhe doctor ki zaroorat hai! Huh? Again Manik? Ufff!! I think a lot about him!
I huffed at the useless thought and concentrated on the man.
"No-no...ma'am how ca-can I da-dare to lie to yo-you...you're Bo-boss's wife" Oh! So he didn't get scared by me but by my name. Wow! His name attached with mine can do many things!
"Hmm. So tell the truth" I said in a monotone.
Ewww!! I hate my voice like this! I sound like a dead person. God knows how Manik manage to talk in this time tone 24/7.
"Actually ma'am you just smiled sweetly and Boss doesn't like that. He always throw glares at us and had also warn us not to react to your smile or greetings" The man spit out the truth.
My mouth formed in a 'O' shape. How. Rude. How can he just warn them like this? Hell, I know he wouldn't have warn them but literally threatened them. And what does he mean by don't react? Does he want everyone to ignore me?
