Ch. 40 Facing a Protagonist

3rd pov: The next few days were a blur to Ash, watching battle after battle and even getting to face a trainer of his own! Ash was finally back in the semi-final's, right where he had been eliminated 8 months ago.......  Ash couldn't help but feel as though today was going to end differently but for now he was in the middle of a pep talk with all of his Pokemon before the battle began.

Ash: "8 months ago Pikachu and I were in the same position that we are in now, we failed back then due to facing some....... unexpected problems. That won't happen this time I......... we've got this!"

3rd pov: All of his Pokemon shouted out in support while Ash could help but smile at his unovan team, knowing that they just might take him all the way......

Ash: "Everyone, for now return to your pokeballs but remember odds are your all going to be fighting today so be ready"

3rd pov: His pokemon nodded in understanding and acceptance before returning back to their pokeballs while Pikachu took his place on Ash's shoulder.......

Ash: "You think we've got this buddy?"

Pikachu: "Pika!"

Ash: "I think so too"

3rd pov: The duo headed out to the stadium, after Iris called both him and his opponent out to the battlefield

Iris: "Now that they are finally here I can announce that...... This time it'll be a fighting type battlefield (a boxing ring rises up from underneath the ground). From what my paper says  Hilda has to reveal her pokemon first but she does get the first move so...... throw out your pokemon!"

3rd pov: Both trainers locked eye to eye, though neither had exchanged any words but none were needed for today. Both were ready for one of the most fearsome battle's of the conference.......

Hilda: "Hitmonlee, showtime!"

Hitmonlee: "Hit-Mon-Lee!"

Ash: A hitmonlee? Then I'll use...... "Braviary, I choose you!"

Braviary: "Brav!"

Iris: Cool, a flying type versus a fighting type, wonder what Hilda will do?

Hilda: "Hitmonlee use ice punch on the ground"

Hitmonlee: "Lee"

Ash: "Braviary is flying remember? Use air slash my friend"

Braviary: "Brav!"

Hilda: "Dodge it and jump onto Braviary's back!"

Hitmonlee: "Lee!"

Ash: "Braviary shake hitmonlee off!"

3rd pov: As much as Braviary tried it couldn't get the fighting baron off of its back and due to the added weight, was flying dangerously close to the icy ground......

Hilda: "Use thunder punch while on its back!"

Hitmonlee: "Lee!"

Ash: "Roll over and fall on hitmonlee!"

Braviary: "Brav!"

3rd pov: Due to Ash's last second call Braviary only had to take damage from thunder-punch while hitmonlee took the full damage of the icy ground and a big eagle falling on top of it.

Hilda: "Hitmonlee use thunder-punch on that oversized bird!"

Hitmonlee: "Lee!"

Ash: "Braviary fly away!"

Braviary: "Brav!"

3rd pov: Unfortunately for Ash Ketchum his loyal Braviary couldn't get away in time resulting in the eagle to take yet another thunder-punch, this time getting paralyzed.....
