Ch. 36 When Being Dense Helps

3rd pov: It had been 2 weeks since the grand festival and not much had changed besides Brock going back to his studies in Jhoto and Dawn becoming more ticked off at May because the brunette was still mad at Ash even though in his mind he didn't do anything wrong but...... He caved into demand.

Ash: "Dawn I...... I think I........ I think i've gotta apologize"

Dawn: "For what? It's not like you did anything wrong, so what you contacted an old friend, it was just to keep up with them right?"

Ash: "Yeah it was totally just keeping up with a friend but I guess did technically lie to her when she asked me....."

3rrvpov: Dawn sighed and sat back down on her chair.....

Dawn: "I don't she why she would get so mad about lying though, unless something happened that you're not telling me about. There isn't anything, right Ash?"

3rd pov: Ash suddenly got very nervous at Dawn's questioning. He couldn't have both of them mad him! That'd end in disaster.....

Ash: Can't tell her about Littleroot or the master ball.... can't take any chances. "No I'm not hiding anything but I still don't know how to fix this, I mean we have to leave in a few days for Unova and I can't just not resolve this. Maybe....... maybe I could try talking with her-

Dawn: "And I'll come to back y-

Ash: "Alone"

Dawn: "Wa?! why?"

Ash: "Dawn me and May have things we've got to iron out, by ourselves so I was wondering if......"

Dawn: "I'll take Pikachu for 3 hours, but if your not back by then-

Ash: "I will be, no need to worry right?"

Dawn: Using my own catchphrase against me....... "yeah yeah just don't do anything stupid Ketchum"

Ash: "But stupidity is allegedly my specialty Dawn"

3rd pov: After getting shoe'd away by Dawn Ash sighed in frustration knowing that working things out with May was not going to be easy but...... might as well try......

Ash: "Now to find her....... maybe she's at the mall? No she wouldn't after such a recent defeat....... media would eat her alive........ maybe in her room? Nah May's too much of an outdoor's person so......... She must be practicing! Yeah after a defeat like that of course she'd want to practice with her pokemon....."

3rd pov: Low and behold, Ash was right. Making his way to the battlefield Ash saw May practicing combinations with her pokemon but... she wasn't alone...... Ash quickly hid behind a nearby tree so he could listen into their conversation in secrecy......

May: "I don't know about this....."

Drew: "Oh come on give me a shot, besides I didn't see that Ketchum kid even watching your contest"

May: "Well Ash got lost on the way here that's all...."

Drew: "Oh yeah he conveniently got lost the one time he promised you something, besides he was probably writing to his lover"

May: "Ash does not have a-

Drew: "Then why did he lie to you? C'mon May don't let him lead you on! Your better than this!"

3rd pov: Ash wanted to confront Drew, really he did but Drew was making some valid points and it really seemed like Drew was just trying to help....... Deciding that he could talk to May later Ash walked away and almost got out without being seen. ALMOST.

Drew: "Ketchum!"

3rd pov: Awkwardly turning his body so that he was facing the 2 coordinator's Ash simply replied,
