“WHAT DID you do to them last night?”

Tapos nang tumawag si Nurse Egot noon kay Keith at bilang kuryoso siya kung paanong pinag-trip-an ni Leon ang mga ito, nagtatanong siya ngayon. Hindi lang nga siya agad pinapansin ni Leon dahil mukhang focused ito na maglipat ng papanoorin. Ayaw tapusin iyong anime dahil hindi naman nanonood si Keith.

“Leon,” he whispered Leon’s name in his ear and made sure that it’d make the young man shiver.

And it seems like it was a success before Leon jumped from his seat and moved away from him while he covered his ear. Although it was dark, Keith could also see how Leon’s cheek flushed and he’s embarrassed. Now, he’s kind of proud of what he did.

“‘Di mo ‘ko kailangang biglain! Ba’t gano’n tono ng boses mo?!” natataranta nitong tanong.

Keith smiled at him. “Kanina mo pa ‘ko ‘di pinapansin. I felt sad.”

“Bwakanang shit ka. Naghahanap nga ako ng papanoorin nang ‘di lang ako ‘yong nag-eenjoy! Can you just... call me normally next time?!” Napahilamos ng mukha ang binata at pinanood niya lamang itong masiphayo. “Now I’m horny. You’re not even taking responsibility!”

Naiirita siyang pinukulan ng masamang tingin nito. But Keith, who’s already a veteran at dealing with Leon ever since he’s a teenager until now that he’s a grown adult, only chuckled. Hindi masakit ang mga tinging ibinabato nito sa kanya magmula noong kahit paano e magbago na naman ang dynamics nila.

Seriously. No one can really predict this man, huh?

“Going back, anong sinabi mo sa mga katrabaho ko?” he asked again.

His voice wasn’t reprimanding, rather; curious. Inasahan ni Keith na baka mag-inarte’t umaktong brusko si Leon sa harap ng mga ito. It’s just that, Keith wanted to know how far did Leon go to the point that his nurse and co-doctor seemed to worry for him a lot. Also, they said that they won’t be bringing Keith to Leon anymore.

Jokes on them.

Leon’s lips pursed before he averted his gaze away from Keith. Napadpad ang mga mata nito sa kisame pero agad din namang bumalik sa kanya ang atensyon nito nang malaman kung paano siya sasagutin.

“Nah. It’s just the usual. Kung pa’no ako umakto sa harap mo. Nagsumbong sila, ‘di ba? Huh. People can’t really take shit.” Leon rolled his eyes heavenwards.

Keith blew a trill. “It’s because not everyone knows how to deal with you.”

“But you do.”

“Because we’ve known each other since you’re a cute little highschooler—” Hindi na natuloy ang sinasabi niya nang ambangan siya nang sapak ni Leon pero natatawa lang siyang umiwas. “What? I’m speaking facts. You used to be so mischievous and pure.”

“Shut up!”

Leon used to be so clingy of him. Looking back, Leon looked forward whenever he’s visiting after school and would sometimes purposely wait outside their house just so they could get in together. Mas hinihintay siya nito kaysa sa sarili nitong kuya. Biased din ito pagdating sa kanya. Dumating pa sa puntong sumasama ito sa kanya kapag may school projects sila ng kuya nito. He used to be that cute, but Keith really only developed feelings for him when Leon turned eighteen because something changed about him back then.

And to be honest, it scared him.

“Ayoko nang manood ng anime. Gusto mo bang random na lang?” nakangusong sabi ni Leon at umusog ulit palapit sa kanya. Sumandal ito sa balikat niya kaya nag-relax din siya. “Horror?”
