Chapter Seventeen

Rosie's POV

God, her room is so random and unique at the same time. It's a total representation of her fascinating personality. I was looking at all the little knickknacks across her shelfs and then stumbled upon some childhood photos. There was a picture of her, no more than 5 years old, and she had ice cream smeared all over her face. I chuckled and moved onto the next which was her and Nayeon together at the beach. They both had huge grins and looked to be having the time of their lives. After I shifted my focus away from the photos, I saw that she had a fucking lava lamp. I always wanted one but I never knew where to get one.

I then looked towards the door of her room because I started to hear approaching footsteps. When the door opened and revealed y/n, I felt the breath get knocked out of me. She looked fucking hot in black jeans and a white T-shirt. There were a few bracelets that she wore on her wrists and had a necklace with the letter J on it. That made me confused, but I just brushed it off to further admire her. After a few moments, I heard her cough and I zoned back into reality, locking eyes with her. She had a small blush on her cheeks and tried to play it off.

"Ok Rosie, I'm ready to head out now. Do you have everything you need?" She asked.

"Uh yeah I have everything I need. Also, I love your room with the family photos and lava lamp." I said smiling at her. She walked over to where the pictures were and pointed to one that was in the back. I didn't remember seeing it, so I must have skipped over it. I then joined her by the photo and she spoke out,

"This is the only full family photo I have. It was when I Nayeon and I were young and my dad was still alive," she said sadly, "He died in a car crash 2 days after my birthday." A single tear rolled down her cheek, but she quickly wiped it away. She composed herself and gave me a smile. Y/n held out her right hand for me to take, but I went in for a hug. She didn't react right away, but I soon felt her hugging back.

"Hey, you don't need to be strong. Let your emotions out when you need to, I'll be here." I said while rubbing her back in comforting circles.

"Thank you Roseanne. Thank you for coming into my life." She said into my shoulder. I was shocked with what she said, but I knew I couldn't have my body react, as she definitely would feel the kind of effect she has on me. A little while later she pulled away and gave me another kiss on the cheek. Wow, she's really trying to kill me. My face betrayed me as I felt it heating up. She laughed softly and gracefully grabbed my hand to lead me out of her room and down the stairs. We saw her mom in the kitchen and she shouted a 'have a good time' and 'thank you for lowering your friendship standards' to us as we walked out the door. I wonder why she said that, but it still made me chuckle to myself.

Y/N's POV

We just decided to walk to Ralph's instead of drive because it was a really nice day out. I still was lightly holding Rosie's hand and I never felt better. As we were making our way to Ralph's, we have to walk past Jennie's house. I wanted us to cross the street before, but that would've looked really weird and stupid. And as soon as we got in front of her house, I quickly looked out of the corner of my eye and saw Lisa, Jisoo, and Jennie staring at us through the front window. They looked like fucking creeps, wearing shit eating grins. I'm never gonna hear the end of this. I huffed out a breath and continued on our journey.

It only ended up taking about 15 minutes, which wasn't bad. The two of us just talked about school and I decided to quiz her on the things we studied the previous night. She actually got everything right which I was pleasantly surprised at. She told me that she 'learned from the best', causing me to roll my eyes.

When we arrived, I opened the door for her and she lightly thanked me. We took a seat in a booth by the far window and obviously sat across from each other. Charlotte, our regular waitress, walked over to us with a bring grin and asked for our orders. Once we did, we got into conversation again.

"What the number one things you miss about Australia?" I questioned, quite curious about the answer. She thought for a moment before answering,

"I'd say the sunsets. Nothing can beat an Australian sunset." She happily sighed, remember what they were like.

"Well, have you watched one of our sunsets yet?"

"No, I haven't been outside during the time, or I'm too busy to pay attention to it. But nothing would change my mind." She said confidently.

"So a challenge I see," I smirked, "well then, we must watch a sunset together sometime. I know a great spot for it too, found it on accident actually."

"Well then you'll definitely need to bring to your 'secret spot' for a sunset." She giggled.

"And I definitely will," I stuck out my pinky and she smiled knowing the drill, "promise."

A few more minutes passed and I learned that she adores music and can play the guitar and piano. Add talented fingers to the list. I smirked to myself when I thought that. I also learned that as a side job to doing music, she wants to work at a planetarium. I lit up at that and told her I wanted to become an astronaut. A dream that is out there and would take a lot of time, but I can always dream. Our food then arrived shortly after and I got the pancake stack with bacon and fresh fruit. Rosie got the french toast with scrambled eggs. She moaned out when she took her first bite and I felt like I needed earplugs. I was about to let my mind wander further but stopped myself when my stomach growled.

"Y/n, this is the best french toast I have ever had! What did they do to it? Put drugs in it?" I laughed at that and just told her to continue eating so we could leave soon.

"Trying to get rid of me already, huh?" She quipped.

"Yup!" I said with a grin on my face. I saw hers drop and laughed because I was teasing her, of course I didn't want her to go. I had one more thing planned.

"Oh you know I was kidding. I just have one more thing I had planned to do today, but you can join me if you want." I said after I swallowed the food in my mouth. She rose her eyebrows in response to that.

"And what may this thing be?"

"Well if you must know, the city is holding a Saturday Matinee at 2 pm and I was going to go and see it." I said hoping that she would be up for it.

"Oh my god really!? I always wanted to go to one of those but we didn't have any in Australia! I would love to accompany you to it!" I said brightly. I let out a breath and smiled at her in relief.

"Ok cool, I can pay for you ticket since they are only $5 a piece."

"No I cannot let you do that, let me pay for my own." She whined out.

"No can do Miss Roseanne. Think if this as me repaying you for the pizza." I said winking at her. She got all shy and huffed out a small breath and gave in. I mentally fist bumped myself as I basically just asked her on a date, but she doesn't need to know the technicalities.
