Chapter Twenty-Six

Y/N's POV

After we ate our early lunch, the rest of the day went smoothly. I sent Rosie a quick text and she didn't respond, but I understood she was probably spending time with her family. With that, I reviewed for the government exam tomorrow and when I felt confident, I decided to go to bed. I checked my phone one last time to see if she said anything, but there was still nothing. I didn't think anything of it and drifted off to sleep.

I awoke the next morning to the sound of my bedroom door flying open,

"Y/N!! WHERE THE HELL DID YOU PUT MY PHONE CHARGER!" Screamed Nayeon at the top of her lungs. I was extremely pissed off that she barged into my room and yelled back at her,

"I DONT KNOW I DIDNT EVEN GO INTO YOUR ROOM THIS WHOLE WEEK!! YOU PROBABLY LEFT IT AT JEONGYEON'S HOUSE, SO GET OUT!" I shouted back at her. I was left with a slam of my door and I took my pillow and put it overtop of my head. Then 3 minutes later my alarm went off, so it was useless. I groaned in protest but I knew I needed to get up. I rolled off my bed and my legs just decided to give out on me, so I fell straight to the floor. I whined out as it hurt a lot because I landed on my arm.

Once I got my bearings, I did my morning routine and went downstairs to eat breakfast.

"Hey mom, what did you make for breakfast?" I said walking over to the kitchen table. She jumped and turned around, obviously not noticing my presence beforehand,

"Oh y/n you scared me! But I made some waffles,"she said to me as she handed me a plate with them, "so eat up and make sure to clean up once you're done. Well, I'm going to get going now, see you later tonight." And with that she kissed the top of my head and she was out the door.

I was eating my food peacefully when I felt a hand slap the back of my head, causing me to choke on my waffle.

"I found my charger if you were wondering, idiot," Nayeon came up behind me and stole my other waffle and grabbing a paper plate, "I'm leaving now, so you have to lock up the house. See ya later loser!" She then slammed the front door close and I was left alone in the house. I rolled my eyes and finished eating and cleaned my dishes in the sink before I started to head out. I walked over to Jennie's house for the normal route and saw she was already waiting for me on her front porch.

"Wow, look at you Miss Kim. You're already all set and ready to go. I was looking forward to nagging at you today." I noted walking up to her. She looked up at me and had a stupid grin on her face,

"Yeah, but I wanted to know all the details of you and Roseanne, so I couldn't waste my time. Now spill everything, and I mean everything. I know when you leave out information, so don't try and skip anything." She threatened me. I held my hands up,

"Ok ok, I won't leave anything out. But let's start walking now, we got a test first thing and we can't be late."

"Boo, your relationship status with Roseanne is way more important than some government test." She said walking backwards in front of me to face me.

"Ok so.."

I told her everything up to when we were in the parking lot. Once I got to that part, we finally arrived at school and I had to cut the conversation short.

"You better continue this cute ass love story later because I know you got more to say." She warned me.

"I'll tell you later, let's get going to government. We got 5 minutes to spare." I said as we made our way to class. When we entered the room, we noticed Lisa and Jisoo sitting together and already messing around. But I looked at where Rosie sat and her seat was empty. I went over to Lisoo and asked them if they had seen Rosie this morning,

"No we haven't seen her, we thought she would come in with you guys." Jisoo said shrugging her shoulders.

"Yeah I didn't see her in the halls. Maybe she's just running late, no big deal." Lisa stated, leaning back in her chair, almost tipping over in the process.

I glanced over at Jennie and she also had a worried look on her face. I told her about Rosie's father and how he was in the ER. We sat down in our seats as the bell rang and I whispered to Jennie,

"Let's not think the worst, maybe she just wanted to take today off and spend it with them." Jennie didn't look convinced with my words, and I also wasn't convinced myself. So I pulled out my phone and texted her,

Me: hey Rosie, I was just
wondering where you are
right now bc we have our gov
test rn and ur not here

Me: hope everything is ok and
please text me if it's not

Me: i want to make sure you're
ok and safe

I waited for a response or at least for the little seen at the bottom; but there was nothing.

Me: please Rosie, text me
when you can, i'm worried
about you

"Okay, I need everyone to put all electronics away and get out your pencils. We are going to be taking out chapter exam today. This will be worth 45% of this semester's grade, so don't fail." Mrs. Pritt announced to the class. I had to put my phone away even though I didn't want to. I needed to at least know she was seeing my messages.

Mrs. Pritt went around and passed the tests out and it was 125 questions. Jesus christ, ok. I took a deep breath and forced myself to forget anything and everything that wasn't history in this moment.

After an hour, I finished my test and handed it in. I think I nailed it quite honestly, but by the looks of Jenlisoo they weren't doing as good as they wanted to. I have faith that they will at least pass, so as I walked back to my seat, I met there eyes and gave them a comforting smile. They returned the smile and continued working.

There was about 20 minutes left of class and over half the class still had their tests with them. We weren't allowed to take our phones out after or else it was an automatic F, so I just took out my notebook and started doodling. The final 20 minutes felt like 2 hours, but class was done and Jenlisoo turned in there tests. We grabbed our bags and walked out the classroom door,

"I think I bombed that" Lisa and Jennie said at the same time. Lisa's eyes widened and she quickly looked away as a blush was taking over her face. I giggled to myself and spoke up,

"I have complete faith that all of you passed the exam at least, now is it going to be a 60%? It very well could be, but that's still passing." I said, hopefully giving them faith in themselves.

"I think I got a B on it honestly. I didn't know some of the generals and what they did, but I think I knew everything else." Jisoo said with a smile on her face.

"That's the spirit Jisoo," I pointed at Jenlisa, "you two need to have more confidence in yourself."

"Blah blah blah, whatever. I hate the class anyway." Jennie sassed back.

"We all know you hate it, you say that everyday after class." Jisoo said rolling her eyes. We were laughing and I felt a buzz in my pocket. My eyes widened and I quickly fished my phone out and looked to see who it was from. I released a breath as I saw it was from Rosie. I unlocked my phone to read the message she sent,

i'm sorry
