• Maddi POV •
"So you're telling me I can't even tell my sister that I'm her sister?" Mason asked me. I nodded, "I'm really sorry, I just think it would be the best for her to not know. Things like that really hurt." I told him. He scoffed, "No, Maddi. That didn't stop you from doing what you did even after you knew I didn't remember who you were." He snapped at me.
I stopped walking. "Stop with the fucking attitude, Mason. I'm trying so hard with you. You do not have any idea what I am going through right now and you're not making it any better." I fussed. He shook his head, "You couldn't be going through so much to where you would leave your own brother right after you get him back and the only thing he has from you is a note, I didn't even know if you were ever going to come back!" He yelled at me.
"Sasha was a better sister than you ever could be." He muttered. That literally broke my heart, "You don't even know the half of it, Mason, I left almost two months ago! Get over it, I came back, you are acting like I vanished from your life completely, even after I had a miscarriage and you knew that, please cut me some slack. I'm trying so hard with you." I told him.
"You had your miscarriage about six months ago, you get over it!" He yelled. I didn't say anything. I just stayed quiet as we walked. "Wait, Maddi, I didn't mean that. I'm so sorry." He said. I just shook my head, "It's fine." I said quietly. He shook his head this time, "No, it's not okay and I'm sorry." He said, I felt like he always would say that when he messes up.
I guess that made him better than me in a way, I would not ever apologize or anything. "It's okay, Mason, I get it. I really do, please just let it go and never talk about my miscarriage again." I told him. He nodded and we kept walking until we made it to the park.
"Maddi!" Abi exclaimed running over to us. She looked at Mason and smiled. "This is Mason, my little brother." I told her. She giggled, "He's giant."
I smiled and nodded, "Yeah he's all grown up now." I said. Jennifer smiled at Mason, "Wow, you are really grown up." She cooed hugging him. "You're just so handsome and older." She said, I felt like she was going to cry. All my moms friends had always loved Mason more than they did me.
"Are we going to feed the ducks?" Abi asked, "Of course, Gracie." Jennifer said, I looked at Mason and he looked bewildered. "Gracie." He said under his breath, I grabbed his hand. I'm guessing nothing has sunk in for him yet.
Jennifer opened her giant purse and pulled out two bags of bread.
"If the ducks get close to you, throw the bread. Do not run from them, okay?" Jennifer told Abi. She shrugged, "I know, Maddi told me how to do it."
I smiled down at her. "Let's go feed some ducks." I spoke. Abi took Mason's hand and they walked to the water.
"So uh, Maddi. Gracie literally talks about you all the time. She loves you." She told me. I nodded, "She should. After all I am her biological sister."

After I walked Mason back to Laura's house, I got a phone call from Sadie informing me that Sawyer was back.
I was currently in Sadie's apartment having a serious conversation.
"Why isn't Taylor back?" I asked. Sawyer shrugged, "He wanted to stay a little longer, he'll be back next week." She said, she looked a little worried.
"Were you really in Indiana?" Sadie asked her, Sawyer didn't respond. "I knew it!" Sadie cheered, "Wait, why did you lie?" I asked. Sawyer shook her head, "You guys wouldn't understand." She mumbled. "Where were you if not in Indiana?" Sadie asked.
"South Florida, I was visiting my grandparents." She shrugged. "You didn't have to lie about that, I'm pretty sure we understand." I laughed, she smiled and nodded. "There's more though. I just don't wanna talk about it right now." Sawyer said. I shrugged, I know to let things go because if it were me, I'd want them to let it go.
"I have to get going, I wanna have the apartment ready when Taylor gets back." She said getting up. I nodded and when she left Sadie yawned. "I am so tired." She announced. I threw one of her couch pillows at her. "Wake up." I laughed.
