• Carter POV •

I was moving out of my moms house. I was only waiting for Matthew to turn eighteen. He's eighteen and now I'm moving out.

I pulled out my phone and went to Twitter.

Mr_carterr: So this will be the last vine I'm making while living w/ my mom go check it out

I went to vine and recorded myself screaming at my mom. She jumped and dropped her plate.

"Cartah!" she yelled. I laughed and posted it.

"I'm not going to miss that." she said, "clean it up." She demanded. I started helping her clean it. "Are you going to miss me?" I asked her. She shrugged, "I'll think about it."

I laughed remembering that vine I'd made with her. I had asked her if she loved me and she said she'd think about it.

"I'll keep your room for you so you come back anytime." she told me. I nodded and kissed her cheek. "I'm leaving." I said. She grabbed my cheeks and kissed them.

"Bye, Carter." she smirked. I didn't even know she could do that.

I grabbed my last suit case and walked out. Matthew was waiting in the car for me.

I got in and he smiled.

"What?" I questioned. "You okay?" he asked. I shrugged, "Why wouldn't I be?" I asked. "You don't know what day it is? Because you did last year and you acted like a little bitch." He teased. I rolled my eyes. "I'm over Maddi, I'm with someone else now besides she ended things with me and left. She isn't ever coming back." I said harsher than I wanted.

I did still like Maddi and I'm pretty sure it isn't healthy to like someone that long.

"Sorry, I didn't mean that. I just really don't wanna think about her today." I said. Today was the day Maddi and I broke up. Yep two whole years ago.

I felt someone grab my shoulders and scream. I screamed also turning around to see Sadie laughing her ass off.

"I scared you, bitch!" she laughed. I smiled at her, "You're lucky I haven't seen you in forever or I'd open a can of kick ass." I joked. She rolled her eyes laughing, "Nah, man!" she said.

I hadn't seen her in a while because of her on and off relationship with Matthew. I'm guessing they're back on now.

We were currently at the mall because Sadie still really loves the mall. Her and Matthew were holding hands while I was walking slowly a few inches behind them.

"What are you going to do while we're gone?" Sadie asked. I cocked my eyebrows at her. "Oops." she mumbled.

"You leaving tonight?" I asked Matthew. He nodded glaring down at Sadie. "Dee dee you're gonna get it." he threatened. She made a sick face because she hated being called that. "Yeah, we have a reservation and it was only open for tonight." he told me.

"I'll be fine I don't know why you didn't tell me. I'll just call someone over." I told them. He shrugged and we kept walking through the mall. We passed Spencer's.

It felt like when Maddi was here we'd always go in there.

*flashback

"It's been a while, do you think they'll ever put a store in here?" She asked me. I looked down at her, Maddi. She was standing in front of a door with construction tape on it. I shrugged and we just walked again.

"We always come in here." I said walking in the store, Spencer's.

She shrugged, "It makes me think of the first time I'd ever been in here and when you told me what getting butterflies were. Who knew that we'd be dating a couple months later." she smiled up at me.

We walked in and saw the fake boobs were all gone. She pouted, "Awe. Matthew's boobs." she sighed. I laughed and kissed her cheek. She put her arms around my torso and I put mine around her neck. She was so tiny. I was too, but she was just so much more smaller and fragile.

"What you thinking about?" she mocked me. Every time she was quiet I'd ask her. "You." I smiled. Her ear tips turned red and we kissed.

*end of flashback

"Carter?" Sadie said. I snapped out of my daze and looked at them. "We aren't going in there." Matthew mumbled. I frowned while I stared at the store walking further from it with every step.

"You sure you'll be okay here all alone?" Matthew asked me. I nodded, "I'm not going to kill myself." I joked. He laughed slightly before Sadie came out. "You look gorgeous, you both do, just go on." I told them.

Matthew nodded grabbing Sadie's waist and pulling her out.

I wasn't really going to stay here all alone. I got up and went back out.

I drove my car to the mall. There was this one place in it, I remember because Maddi was the one who found it.

We'd go up there all the time and it was our spot. Normally people would have beaches for spots or forests, but ours was an abandoned store in the mall.

I saw a girl who could've been the same height as Maddi when she was sixteen walking in front of me. All of these things remind me of her today.

I knew it wasn't her though because Maddi wouldn't ever die her hair. The girls hair was way longer than Maddi's was, the ends of it were either blue or purple. Maddi used to talk about that, but I doubt she'd ever do it. This girl could've been Maddi's sister from the back.

I wasn't following her or anything, she was just walking the same way I was. The only thing that really reminded me of Maddi that was exactly the same was her outfit. She had on skinny jeans, black converse and a hoodie.

Sadie and her would be the only girls crazy enough to wear a hoodie in this heat while their whole body would be covered.

She stopped walking and turned around. When she saw me she froze.

Her mouth opened and I could read that she'd whispered "Carter."

It was Maddi, it was actually her. My Maddi.

"Maddi?" I questioned.
