• Maddi POV •

I woke up to my phone ringing. I groaned and looked down at my phone and James was calling. I sat up and answered.

"Hello?" I answered. "I'm stuck at work so I can't hang out with you and your family today." He informed me, I sighed, "Are you sure you can't get out of it?" I asked. "Yeah, I already tried." He spoke. I didn't wanna push anything because I had already almost cost him his job, so I just let it go. "Okay, it's fine." I told him.

"I'm gonna go, just drop by later tonight." I said. "Okay, bye girl." He said, I laughed and told him bye then we hung up.

I got up and went to my closet to get some clothes to change into for today. Mason and Abi wanted to have a day with us and James, but I guess we'll have to reschedule with him included and just have a day with us three.

I quickly showered and put on a pair of denim shorts and an American flag tshirt. I walked down the stairs to see Abi and Mason sleeping on the couch. I laughed and woke them up. "We should get ready." I told them. Mason groaned and Abi just sat up with the covers around her. "I wanna go back to sleep." she muttered. I did too, we could have just slept all day, but I was already awake.

"Is James here?" Mason asked, I shook my head. "He can't make it, so it's just us for the day." I shrugged, he yawned and nodded. "We should invite Carter." Mason said. "I don't know, Abi's young and I don't want her to get confused with seeing James and then Carter." I told him, "Who's Abi?" Abi asked, I laughed awkwardly.

"Never mind that, call him." I told Mason. He nodded and walked out the room. "Can I pick out my own outfit today?" Abi asked. I nodded, "Sure, I trust you." I smiled.

She got up really fast and went to my room probably to go through her bag. Maosn came back in, "He's coming." He informed me. I nodded, "You should probably get dressed then." I told him. He shrugged, "I like this look."

"For the sake of Abi and I, I think you should wear pants, and a shirt." I laughed. "Shouldn't you start calling her Grace?" He asked me, I shrugged, "I can't get used to that now." I told him, "Neither could I, but I'm doing it for her sake." he said. I shrugged, "I call her Grace when she's around."

"Well, I'm gonna go change." He said leaving again. I sat down on the couch and waited for Mason and Abi to get down here and for Carter to get here.

Mason came down in five minutes then Carter rang the knocked on the door, probably unaware of the doorbell. "I'm gonna go check on Abi." I said, then Mason gave me a look, "Grace." I said, putting my hands up in defense.

As I walked up the stairs I walked in and she had scissors. "Grace!" I shouted, she dropped the scissors and turned around. "I wanted my hair to look like yours." She shrugged like it was nothing. "You can't cut your hair, Jennifer would freak out on me." I laughed.

She shrugged, "I like your hair." She told me, I shrugged, "Ask her and I'll take you to cut it." I said. She nodded and walked over to me, her outfit wasn't that bad, she had on light blue kid leggings and a big tshirt that was green with her black flip flops. "Let's change your shirt." I smiled. She shrugged.

After I changed her shirt, we walked down the stairs to meet everyone. "I'll drive us where ever you guys want to go." Carter announced, "No, you shouldn't waste your gas." I told him. I wouldn't mind the walk and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't either.

"Hey, I remember you." Abi said to Carter. He tilted his head, "Do you?" He asked her, she nodded. "I never forget people's faces." She shrugged, but she did. She forgot Mason's face, she forgot mine. "Remember two years ago in Ohio, I ran into a little girl, this is her." I told him. His eyes widened, "You kidnapped her?" he asked.
