Prologue

• Carter POV •

I had got out of bed this morning with the biggest smile on my face. I knew I was going to spend my day with Maddi. She didn't, but I did.

I pulled my phone out to text her.

-Maddi♥
Can we go out tonight? Wear something fancy, but comfortable.

I needed to go out to the mall. I had no fancy clothes. I know she loved my simple style and didn't care what I dressed in, but I felt like since she put up with my lack of fanciness that she deserved to see my fancy side. If I had one anyways.

"Carter!" My mom called. "Coming, hold on!" I replied.

My phone vibrated and I looked down to see a text from my girlfriend. I couldn't ever get the fact that we were dating out of my head and I never wanted to.

Sure(: I'm guessing a dress or something?

I smiled as I read that. I could literally hear her voice saying those words.

Whatever's the easiest to get under;)

I laughed as I sent that. I could feel her expression, it'd be all smiley then shocked and gasping then back to the smile.

"Carter!" My mom yelled again.

You're nasty.

I laughed, that again I could hear her saying.

I know;) but I'm serious, it's way easier and faster to take off.

I walked downstairs with my phone after I sent that.

"Yes, mom?" I asked. "We're going to get some food. Get dressed." she told me. I nodded and ran upstairs to get ready and my phone vibrated again.

Oh gosh Carterrrrrrrr. Well same for you then. Wear something easy for me to skimp you from ;)

I smirked once I read that. There's always more than one side to every girl: her shy side, evil side, sexual side, and funny side. I'm pretty sure there's more, but those are my favourites.

I laughed to myself as I sent that. I grabbed my white shirt with the different coloured crosses at the top, my black sweats, and a red hoodie. I wouldve worn my black one, but Maddi took it.

I laughed at her text. I'm not 'turned on' I just like messing with her. Just as I was about to start typing I got another message.

I have to go. Laura is taking us somewhere. :) See you tonight hopefully

I went downstairs and Kealia was standing with my mom.

"Ew." I teased. "Shut up loser." she said. I laughed and hugged her, "Where are we eating?" I asked. "We should go to Cracker Barrel." Kealia suggested.
