A/N: I got my first request! You can thank @JulzLovDraco4Eva for the plot. Granted, it is altered a tiny bit but it's generally the same. I hope I made it to your liking!

Summary: Sirius confesses his feelings for James' lovely twin, Y/n.

Y/n does use she/her pronouns. Feel free to imagine whatever pronouns you want, though!

"Are you kidding me?"

I glanced around, hoping the incredulous voice of none other than Lily Evans wasn't heard all the way across the Great Hall.

"No. I'm going to do it."

"Y/n, I really want to trust your judgement, but you're making that really difficult. Why exactly is it a good idea to meet up with a stranger in a semi-secluded area?"

Well, now that you put it like that. "Because I'm curious?"

As Lily rubbed her temples, no doubt to soothe the headache that my lack of wit was causing, I glanced down at the reason for the conversation. It was a small piece of parchment that had been given to me by a classmate. The slanting, careful cursive on the paper gave no indication as to its author, nor did its deliverer.

'Meet me at the beech tree near the Black Lake.'  Is all it says. It doesn't even tell me when, the best I can do is assume whoever wrote it means now.

I checked my watch. I have another half hour before I'm due for D.A.D.A., and the walk isn't terribly long. If I leave now, I could be there and back in good time.

"You don't know who it's from. It could be from that idiotic Sirius Black- it could be another prank. Honestly, I don't know why you hang out with him. Even James doesn't fully trust him around you, and that's concerning."

"True, but please don't talk about him that way." I also hang out with them because I have feelings for 'that idiotic Sirius Black'. But you already know that. I wasn't going to tell her that my stomach got butterflies at the thought of Sirius wanting to speak to me privately.

"It could also be from Gerald. As in your ex-boyfriend Gerald who's an arse and is the reason you won't date?"

I paused for a moment. I hadn't thought about that. Shaking off the thought, I replied, "Also true. But I'm still going."

Lily sighed. There really was no convincing me. After all, my stubbornness was- according to her- the trait that had gotten me into Gryffindor. That mixed with my curiosity was a mix that had gotten me in trouble more than once, and it was the only thing that gave me enough courage to find out who sent the note.

"Alright, if you must. But please be careful." She turned around, a concerned look on her face.

"Yes mother." I teased, pulling the strap of my book bag over my shoulder and heading for the vast doors.

"Stop calling me that! I'm not your mother!" She called after me.

"Well you sure act like it!" I called over my shoulder, a smile gracing my lips as I began the walk towards the Black Lake.

The walk to the Black Lake was not a short one, but it gave me a bit of time to think- mostly to imagine what it would be like if in some weird world it was from Sirius.

However, it caught you completely off guard when you saw Sirius sitting against the trunk of the beech tree. His legs were pulled up so that whatever he was fidgeting with in his hands was hidden from view.

By the time you had realized what was going on, he had looked up. You were holding the note in your hand (you were examining it intently on the walk) so it was too late to pretend you hadn't received it.
