Summary: You and Silas have an agreement that he would help you make your ex leave you alone by pretending to flirt with you, but what happens when you end up flirting when you're alone?

Ex's pronouns are he/him, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're a girl. As usual I will be using they/them pronouns for Y/n.

And yes the ex's name is Gerald. I used the name in another chapter and it stuck so bear with me and my incapability to take anything seriously.

"Y/n! Fancy seeing you here."

I glanced up from my laptop when I head Silas' voice, suppressing a smile. "Yeah, fancy that."

"What are you up to?"

"Work." I replied in an unenthusiastic tone. As I glanced down to take a swig of my drink, I noticed a figure heading in.

Silas followed my gaze to the guy I was watching, but before he could ask, I muttered, "Sit down."

Without missing a beat he took the seat across from me. Lowering his voice, he asked, "Who's that?"

"My ex, Gerald." I replied softly, trying to shift in my chair so Gerald couldn't recognize me. "He thinks I'm still into him."

"Are you?"

"No, but I wish he knew that." I mentally cursed myself when Gerald began to walk our way.

"Hey, Y/n. How have you been?" Gerald smiled at you, a little too cheekily for your liking.

"Good." I said simply and with blatant disinterest.

"What are you doing later this evening? I was thinking of heading to the Grill later for a couple of drinks, you interested in joining me?"

"I can't, sorry." I faked an apologetic look.

"How come?"

"Busy." I replied in a monotone voice, not looking up from my laptop.

"Bummer. We'll have to try for another time, yeah?"

I hummed, but Gerald had stalked off before he could hear my noncommittal response.

"I am seriously concerned for your taste in men." Silas commented when Gerald was out of earshot.

"I am too." I sighed.

"I have an idea." He announced.

"Oh dear."

"You want him to leave you alone, right?" I nodded. "Then get out and show him that you're over him."

"How?"

"Show up at the Grill."

"With who? I'll look like a loser if I show up alone, and I don't have any friends."

"You'll have a date."

"Who?"

"Me. I'll pretend to be your boyfriend to get him off your back." He leaned back, crossing his arms. "Think about it. Show him what he missed and show him that he can't have it." (A/N: Silas=best wingman)

I narrowed my eyes. "What's the trick?"

He shrugged. "No trick."

Knowing him, this wasn't true. There was something he wanted in return, or an ulterior motive. "You don't want anything?"

He leaned forward, eyes looking into mine. "Your presence is enough."

I still didn't believe him but I shrugged. "Alright, thanks. I'll see you tonight."
