For what feels like infinity I hold onto him scared to let go. I never thought I'd see the day his calm exterior broke, what makes me feel worse is the fact it broke because of me. Though no sounds escape his lips, his tears soaking my shirt speak volumes.

"Baby, you forget what I told you," I mutter just audible enough for him to hear.

"Hmm?" His shaky voice shatters my heart further.

"You're stuck with me. For this life and all the others. Which means I'm not going anywhere," Just when I thought his hold on me couldn't get any tighter, it does. "I also haven't cashed out our bet yet and I refuse to die before that," I joke. "Even so, I'm not leaving you. I promise,"

"My theory was correct, and now we have evidence that Cryptic is behind all of this, so you have the go-ahead to kill him," Illu barges in the room with no warning.

"What did you find out?" I ask getting off Hisoka's lap to sit next to him on the bed.

"While you kept him occupied, he texted his right-hand person to finalize the sale for him because he would be with another potential victim which leads me to say you were his next victim," The thought alone makes me sick.

"I thought he only went after bystanders?"

"He's taken not only bystanders but also racers. He would sell some, keep some for personal pleasure and use the rest as dummies for clients of his to torture and kill as they please. Clients would bid on victims then get taken to a room where they're given an array of weapons to torture and kill the victim,"

Words can't even begin to form how disgusted I am hearing all of this.

"The dinner he wants to hold for all the racers tomorrow, that's the best time to take him out. I just need to get him alone and do it,"

"It could also be a trap. I would suggest you let the second mafia family you've acquired help out. And no there's no debating that. You're not allowed to use any of your abilities till this mission is over and that includes teleporting,"

"What a drag," I huff lying back against the bed. I understand it's for my own good but damn is this gonna be a pain. I use my portals nearly every day unless I want to enjoy the journey of a car ride or something like that.

"How'd you know about his right-hand person?" Hisoka chimes in? "I stalked him for a while. He's the same one who would dump bodies in the alley and from Kuroo's reports he would scout potential victims for Cryptic from behind the scenes so that no suspicions fell on Cryptic directly. That Dante fellow who was the latest body dumped, he had got into a disagreement with Cryptic about continuing to work for him,"

"Well, at least this will be over soon," Hisoka sighs in relief. While I will miss hanging out with the crimson boys daily, I agree with Hisoka. After all these months, this hell of a mission is coming to an end.

"I'll leave the rest to you. We can leave once he's taken out and whatever surviving victims are set free. I'll take care of that part so taking him out is all you have to do," I like this plan. He leaves the room closing the door behind him.

Hisoka lies down next to me putting his head on my shoulder. He stays next to me for a while before turning over to hover over my body, his hair dangling down poking me in my eyes.

"How many times have I told you to cut this mess before I do?" I giggle pushing it out of the way to meet his gaze.

"But if I cut it, what will you have to hold on to?" He smirks turning the mood of the room a full 180.

"Fair point," I play along wrapping my arms around his neck twirling parts of his hair between my fingers. He dips down and starts kissing my jaw down to my collar bones gently. "Babe,"
