Welcoming the new year to me only means welcoming new bullshit to deal with, with possible new blessings along the way. With everyone else preoccupied with their different activities, I thought it best to leave them to enjoy the calm a little longer. The kids remain in Japan, Illumi, and Eva at her parents, all my staff on a well-deserved paid vacation, all but leaving Hisoka and I home alone.
Truly, my healing cards have not been put to more use than they have been in these past few days. With the possibility of anyone walking in on us removed entirely, his mind has had no shortage of compiling and executing ideas of places he can bend me over. Not that I mind in the slightest.
When he doesn't have me folded, twisted, strung up, or bent over like an Olympic gymnast, he takes full advantage of our training equipment in the backyard. For hours on end, day in and day out, he does nothing but pure training. From physical to nen, it's quite the sight to see. It's the reason I can't get any work done myself, and also, the reason why I have a family-sized bag of popcorn in my desk drawer.
With my office offering a Skybox VIP seat to see him working out in nothing but sweatpants, it would be a waste not to enjoy the view. A few of my favorites have to be; him using the punching bag, one-handed handstand pushups, and an honorable mention, skipping. It's oddly weird yet satisfying to see his pecs bounce. Not to forget what lies under the strings of his sweatpants.
He's dragged me into a few of his training sessions when I'm not here cooped up trying to piece together the puzzle of the Dragons or spying on him. As to how much of it was actual training, I couldn't tell you. But I can say that a few new kinks have been unlocked.
However, what can be said is that according to all the maps we have available, all indicators point to the kingdoms of old seeming to stand directly at the center of the dark world. With that being said, Hisoka and I had a theory that when the war ended, the remaining essence of the fallen leaked into the land and caused it to become what it is now.
Since nen was the stolen life essence of dragons harvested by regular mortals, who's to say the tsunami of bloodshed during the war didn't cause that half of the world to plunge itself into endless darkness and horrors? What if the negativity harbored in all the souls of the fallen manifested itself into what we know to be the dark world?
"Someone seems lost in thought," His soft seductive voice breathes into my ear, pulling me from my thoughts. I don't know how he sneaked into the office without me hearing him. I hardly even realized he had left the backyard-
A cool breeze grazes over me, my attention now on the open window to my far right. He bungee gummed his way up. Why did I not expect that at some point?
"I must say, love, although from the outside I can't see in, I have a keen 6th sense for when I'm being watched, much less when those eyes watching me belong to you," He breathes as the back of his knuckle slowly rakes down the side of my cheek, his mouth just barely grazing the shell of my ear.
"What exactly is your point, clown?" I answer unfazed by his obvious attempt to get under my skin.
"Magician," He halfheartedly warns. He spins my chair around so that I'm now facing him. One of his hands remains against the back of my chair to the side of my head, the other on my armrest as his eyes stare daggers into mine, his face just bare centimeters from mine.
"Whatever, clown. What exactly is your point?" I remain as unfazed as possible, ignoring the urge to pull him into me completely. His golden gaze holds nothing but lust behind them as I can see the image of him bending me over my desk again, reflected in his eyes.
"You've done nothing but stare at me for the entirety of my workout. Need I remind you I'm quite shy?" He taunts, a sly smirk lingering at the corners of his lips.
