"Is she still insistent on being difficult? " I huff to Hisoka as he steps through the elevator into my office.
"Funny you should say that she asked the same of you," He chuckles as he settles himself into the chair opposite my desk.
"I don't understand what the sudden switch in attitude is all about. Since she's been with us she's never been like this," I huff tossing the
files I was looking at onto the desk, scattering them just slightly.Since our little fight, Athena has been testing my patience severely. She's not only been giving me the silent treatment FOR THREE DAYS CONSECUTIVELY. She goes to every extent to avoid me whilst being as passive-aggressive as she can. At this point, it's just aggressive.
"Unfortunately for all of us, she isn't," He sighs sinking further into the chair. "Would all this stop if you were to, I don't know? Apologize to her?"
"Me? APOLOGIzE?! I have nothing to apologize for. I did what was best for not only the mission but also her and her siblings' well-being. If she can't understand that I can't help her," He looks at me blankly. "What is it?" He wants to say something, I can see it written on his face.
"You know how much I love you and that I'm always on your side-" He starts to drag out his flattery.
"SPIT IT OUT," I command, earning widened eyes from him. "Sorry, I'm getting overwhelmed and taking it out on you for no reason," I think I'm losing what little sanity I have left at a rapid pace.
"I was about to say if you look at it from an outsider's point of view..."
"He means that she's your exact copy, and she's retaliating like you did when we were teenagers," Illumi takes over. Both Hisoka and I jump at his presence since neither of us understands how he appeared so suddenly.
"Where exactly did you come from?" Hisoka asks, Concern plastered on his face as he looks around trying to understand it.
"I've been on the roof for the past 20 minutes waiting for this one to realize she needs Athena's help before she can make any progress," He not so subtly hints as he nudges his head towards me.
"Need her help for what exactly?" Hisoka asks.
"Has spending so much time with each other made you two lose functioning brain cells?" He tilts his head to the side.
"Who said I had any to begin with?" I counter proudly as I lean back into my chair crossing my arms over my chest.
"To be fair I don't pay attention unless it involves a fight or something interesting," Hisoka shrugs. Illumi sighs heavily shaking his head.
"Having all those different schematics of the castle floor plan doesn't help much unless you can verify which ones are real. For all, you know, there are 8 different hidden rooms not listed here. With the addition of it being from a 'magical' realm who's to say anything on these plans is true to what is there," He walks over to the other side of the desk and sits adjacent to Hisoka
"You've exceeded your word use for the next year with that explanation alone," I joke. "But, you do have a point," I sigh pushing aside the floor plans to briefly go back to the grimoire.
"Anything on our mystery owner?" Hisoka asks as he idly plays with his cards.
"Not anything in particular. I've checked every available source possible, and nothing about a "Morrow" anywhere,"
"The closest I've ever gotten was the Hunter website trying to give me your name as an autocorrected suggestion,"
"Me?" He chuckles deeply. "Like I'd be caught being a lap dog for anyone," He shrugs confidently. Illumi and I share a knowing glance momentarily, neither of us daring to say a word. "Something to say?" He taunts menacingly.
