Ansley's P.OV.
"Hey," Cody made his way to me as I walked in the door of the diner two and a half hours late. "Bailey texted me last night that you didn't seem okay. I'm surprised you even came in today. What happened?"
Well, I was driving home in the rain at four in the morning and my car broke down, so I started crying. A tow truck couldn't arrive until eight thirty and I cried myself to sleep in my car because everything sucked. Then, I overslept in the car until the tow truck showed up. They fixed my car quick so that I could go into work. I looked like shit from crying and lack of sleep. Luckily, tomorrow would be Saturday. No work.
"Nothing," I leaned on the counter as Cody brewed coffee for me.
"Ansley," he shook his head. "I'm not stupid. But I have to keep working, though, and so do you. Drink up." He handed me my cup of coffee and I sipped it before getting to work.
When the morning diner rush had slowed down, I wiped down the counter with a wet rag.
"You'd never guess who came here this morning looking like she hadn't slept for days asking if you were here yet," Cody looked up from the dirty dishes he was cleaning.
"Really? She came here?" I was shocked, but I sounded pissed.
"Yep. I told her I wasn't sure if you were coming in today. She said she has a Thank You card for you at her house for when you go pick up Jacob from her place," he explained.
"I'm not even sure Jake is going over there this afternoon. I'm not really in the mood to see her today. She doesn't even like me," I shook my head at the thought and threw the rag into the sink.
"Why don't you want to see her?" he stopped what he was doing and looked at me.
I shrugged. "Just my mood, I guess."
"Well, don't take it out on your best friend, Anna," he sighed and finished with the dishes. "Go on your break. Isaiah will be here soon."
"Okay," I took off my apron and grabbed my bag, ringing the bell as I pushed the door open, and strutting out onto the crowded sidewalk with my sunglasses on.
I hated the feeling of people brushing past me, so many hot bodies around mine, but all neglecting me, even the girl who stumbled into me while texting someone. Right before I reached the park that was located in the center of downtown, a young girl, probably around the age of fifteen, approached me, wearing a Neon Lights Tour t-shirt. She seemed rather shaky, her dirty blonde, almost light brunette hair falling over her shoulders. On a leash at her feet was a little dog that seemed to be a Yorkshire Terrior.
"E-excuse me," she spoke to me. "Is your name Ansley?"
"Yeah..." I was really confused. Who was this girl? "How do you know my name?"
"I saw a video of you on YouTube and Demi Lovato said your name was Ansley in the video. It was in a store down the street. And a lot of pictures were taken of you and Demi by paparazzi. Are you guy's friends?" the girl looks up from a piece of paper she had in her hands along with her cell phone.
"Yeah, I am," a faked a smile, which turned into a real smile. Was I becoming slightly famous?
"Awesome! Can I get your autograph?" She asked with her paper and sharpie out.
"Sure!" I nodded and signed my first name on her paper.
"Awesome! Can I get a picture with you, too?" she was smiling so wide and her cheeks were so red, either from the heat, sunburn, or nervousness. I wasn't a celebrity, so why was she wanting my autograph and picture?
