Stopping in my tracks, I whirled to face a stunning blonde who was hidden behind a gorgeous pink mask, grin spreading across my lips in an instant. We stared at each other for a moment before breaking into laughter, pulling in one another for a hug.

"Nik said you came to New Orleans a few weeks ago," she said sternly as she stepped back, "and you didn't even visit me."

I gulped. "Klaus wasn't supposed to know I was there - no one was. I wanted to see you, Bex, but I couldn't. I was scared of what he would do."

Rebekah rolled her eyes. "My bastard brother would have a lot of people to answer to if he laid a finger on you, Kayla."

I narrowed my eyes. "So you didn't hear about our fight?"

"I heard, but I assumed you kicked his arse," she chuckled.

I snorted. "Damn right I did." Then I sighed. "But only because he let me."

"Wait, you and Klaus had a fight? Like a physical fight?" Kai asked in astonishment next to me.

I nodded as Rebekah's gaze flicked between us with a smirk. "I didn't know you had a boyfriend, Kayla," she said, suggestive tone to her voice.

"He's not my boyfriend but, um, this is Kai," I told her, cheeks burning.

"I'm Rebekah. It's a pleasure to meet you, Kai," she said, holding out her hand to him.

Kai took it in his before leaning down. "The pleasure is all mine," he said, pressing a kiss to her skin.

Rebekah giggled as he let go. "Watch this one, Kayla. He's very charming - and handsome. Wouldn't want anyone to steal him..." she teased, waggling her eyebrows at me.

My jaw dropped. "Bex!" I hissed playfully.

She winked at me. "I'm joking... Kind of." I shot a disapproving look her way, earning me a grin from her. "He couldn't handle me anyways," she added with a smirk.

Well, she wasn't wrong there. Kai thought I was a handful? He'd have no hope in hell with Rebekah.

"I hope you guys weren't in a rush to go somewhere?" she wondered, raising a perfectly sculpted brow. "We'll be having the feast soon."

I shook my head, forcing down my blush. "No. Just going to get some fresh air."

She narrowed her sparkling blue eyes at me through the mask but didn't push any further. "Alright. I guess I'll see you guys in the dining room shortly?"

Kai and I nodded. "See you soon," I said with a smile.

"I'll save you a seat next to me," she added, winking directly at Kai.

"Rebekah!" I chastised.

Wiggling her fingers goodbye, she walked away with a giggle.

"Well she was..." Kai began as we continued in the direction we'd been headed before being interrupted.
