Kai's POV

"Aw, is someone missing me already?" I teased as I answered the incoming call on my phone, tapping the screen with one hand, keeping the other on the steering wheel.

There was an exaggerated sigh through the speaker. "Trust me, Weasel, I wouldn't be calling if I had any other choice. Where are you right now?"

I smiled to myself, scanning my surroundings through the windscreen as I drove down the highway, Daisy sat happily on the seat next to me watching the world pass her by. "On my way to Whitmore to pay my little sister a visit. Since you guys can't seem to keep a Ripper locked up for any longer than a few hours, I've decided to take matters into my own hands."

"You're going to see Liv?" Damon questioned. "Why?"

"I need the Gemini grimoires and history books to do some research," I explained. "My coven has always made it their duty to take down the Big Bads of the supernatural world, I'm hoping there will be some accounts in the past that will help me stop our little Ripper problem."

It was quiet for a few moments.

"Sorry, let me dumb that down for you," I teased when it appeared he wasn't going to reply. "Magical spell books make Stefan and Mickie bad no more."

There was a growl of frustration. "I know what you meant, idiot! I'm thinking."

I snorted. "That can't be good for anyone."

"What do you mean by 'take down'?" Damon wondered, concern lacing his tone. "You're not going to kill them, right? Because I don't think I need to remind you what would happen if any harm came to my brother-"

"Of course not," I cut him off, rolling my eyes. "But there has to be a way to immobilise them for a while. Or, at the very least, a spell to hold them until we break through."

Damon hummed distrustingly. "I know what occurs when a Gemini tries to 'immobilise' a vampire," he muttered. "It's usually filled with pain and suffering."

"She attacked me, Damon!" I yelled, losing my patience. "She used me, lied to me, all so she could help Stefan escape!" Taking a deep breath, I reined in my anger. "She's gone too far. This has to end one way or another."

Damon groaned. "Fine. Do whatever you have to do at Whitmore, but make it quick. I need your help."

I chuckled to myself, a smirk painting my lips. "Always knew you would."

The only reply was a beep, the call coming to a swift end.

I hadn't heard from Mikaela since this morning - from what I could tell, no one had. The minute I'd received the text from Enzo, I got dressed, put Daisy on her leash, and then hopped into my car.
