Today is doctor day and we are hoping to find out what we are having.
Now that the house building is over I don't have to ask dad for time off.
I had already got up early and checked on the horses and came back to get Arrow. He is spending time with Dad so we can go to the doctor's appointment alone.
We drove down to the main house and I took Arrow inside to dad before heading to Dr. Terry's.
"Are you excited to find out what we are having?" I asked her.
"Of course Hart. I just hope the baby cooperates."
"Me too Ayla," I said squeezing her fingers.
We pull up and head inside. We didn't wait long until Dr. Terry came in the room smiling.
"Hey, folks! Where is Mr. Arrow this morning?"
"He is with Worth this morning," Ayla said sitting on the table.
"Let's get a look at this kiddo and see if we can tell what you are having." He said.
"Doc we would like it to be a surprise please like last time," I said.
"You got it now let me take a look." He said clicking buttons and looking at the screen.
"Ahhh I can see what your little bundle is. I'll put it in an envelope and seal it for you guys. But everything looks good and your baby looks healthy."
"Thank you so much, Dr. Terry," Ayla said.
"No problem just keep doing what you're doing and make an appointment for next month and congrats again!" He smiled.
"Thanks, doc!" I said as I helped Ayla off the bed.
"Let's take this envelope to the party store and get some poppers with the color in it." She said.
Once we checked out and got our appointment for next month we headed to the party store.
I went inside and gave the envelope to the cashier and he went to the back and when he come back out he said congrats and handed me the envelope back sealed.
"Did you look inside?" I asked.
"Yeah man, I just sealed it back up so you wouldn't look." He laughed.
"Oh got it. Thanks!" I said.
When I got in the car I handed them to Ayla and she laughed. "It's hard to believe our answers are in these tubes. I'm tempted to pop one right here in the car." She laughed.
"Ha, don't do that! That would be a bitch to clean up Ayla."
"I know! I guess we are having a spur-of-the-moment surprise party with no food." I said.
"Oh if you know my dad he is having Clara cooking up something because he knows we are finding out today and if we didn't well we will just get together and eat." I laughed.
When we pulled up at home dad was outside on the porch with Arrow playing. "Hey, guys! Find out?"
"We sure did dad. Guess we will pop them before dinner." I said.
"Oh yes we will but I say pop it now and we can just tell everyone later." He laughed.
"Mama!" Arrow said holding his arms open wide.
"You know how to make me feel special Arrow." She said kissing his face.
"Dada doo!" He jabbered.
"At some point, he's not going to be happy to see you any longer." Dad laughed.
"Don't burst our bubble just yet dad." I laughed.
We gathered up Arrow and headed up to the house until dinner time. Ayla said she needed a nap and well Arrow did as well.
I put Arrow in his crib with a bottle that Ayla made. She was so tired she fell asleep on the bed with her shoes on.
I quietly entered the room and slipped her shoes off of her feet and put a blanket over her and then went downstairs to watch some tv.
My phone beeped and I picked it up to look at it.
📱 Hey, I'm pulling up now.
📱 Ayla is asleep but I'll meet you at the door.
I put my phone down and looked up the stairs to make sure Ayla was still sleeping. I have a huge surprise for her.
When I opened the door Christian was looking back at me smirking. "It's so good to see you, Hart." He said.
"You are a sight for sore eyes and your sister is going to be ecstatic that you are here," I said.
"Damn this house is nice. I appreciate how much you love my sister and take care of her that I don't worry about her like I used to." He said.
"It's my pleasure I love your sister. Come on let's get you in the spare room." I said.
We put his bag in the spare room and went downstairs to chat.
"So what's new?" I asked him.
"Same ole thing and you know cant talk about anything. What about you guys? Besides the house and the new baby. I'm excited to find out what it is."
"We are too. We were tempted to pop the popper in the jeep." I laughed.
"I hear her moving around. Go over and hide in the coat closet."
She walked downstairs and over to me. "I really needed that nap."
"I know you did I had to take your shoes off." I laughed.
"I appreciate that Hart." She smiled.
"Before you sit down will you go over and open up that coat closet I don't think you looked in it," I said.
"What? It's just a coat closet." She said.
"Please? For me, I have you a surprise in there."
"A surprise? Oh, Hart you know I love surprises."
I watched as she walked over and opened the door and when she did she screamed and Christian grabbed her in a big bear hug.
That scream woke up Arrow and I went upstairs to get him while they talked.
"It's ok Arrow. Guess who is here?" I asked him.
He just stared at me. "Uncle Christian is downstairs," I said as we went to find them.
