Summary: SCP-038 is a very special tree; one that can clone any object that touches its bark (200 lbs. limit). The growth of cloned objects is almost instantaneous, reaching maturity in a matter of minutes. Anything from fruits, vegetables, snack foods, electronics, animals, and even people can be cloned. Note: Animal cloning is not recommended, as clones die at the same rate as fruits rot (about 2 weeks). Note: 038 can clone SCP-500 (Panacea), however the pills only work 30% of the time. In 60% of cases, further infection ceased, but symptoms remained. Mass producing SCP-500 for public use denied by O5 council. Mass producing SCP-500 for foundation use pending O5 approval.
Usefulness: Extremely useful. Were there to be an end-of-world scenario, humans could hideout, with access to 038, and not have to worry about running out of food, water, of medicine, as long as there was an original specimen to duplicate.
Against 682: Even with the weight limit, 682 is not to ever come into contact with 038. We don't need it gaining the ability to self-replicate.
