Summary: SCP-040 is an 8-year-old girl with light/touch-sensitive skin that damages easily and brittle, pink hair that falls out easily. She has green/yellow heterochromia of the eyes. The left eye's sclera is black in color, and the eye itself cannot see. Other than that, she's a normal child, albeit with higher than average intelligence for her age. She has the ability to manipulate living matter, taking existing organisms and creating new ones, which explains why her hair and eyes may be the way they are. This effect is of the subject's own will; however, it requires focus and time to work. Small-scale modifications are inaccurate, 040 cannot manipulate microorganisms, and manipulating plant matter is very difficult. Dead matter can be manipulated in conjunction with living matter. There are three modified organisms (SCP-040-1) currently living with 040, as they will have a positive effect on 040's mental health and have been deemed non-threatening. 040-1 instances are extremely loyal to 040 and cannot be manipulated after the first time. SCP-040-1a can change its shape, size, texture, and color in response to the environment. It now resides as a sweater for 040 that absorbs nutrients from 040's bloodstream and is genetically similar to a regular cat. SCP-040-1c is a spherical, floating organism with rubbery bladders full of helium, eleven limbs ending in opposable digits, and a complex respiratory system that can replicate music. SCP-040-1j is a 4-legged pink and blue organism with no eyes, blunt teeth, and the ability to climb vertical surfaces. A mode of transport for 040. Note: 040 successfully reanimated a human corpse using the living bodies of 3 rats. While he regained consciousness, he had no memories of his previous life and had the mental capacity of a toddler. Distressing to 040.
Usefulness: Useful in modifying living humans, but testing of that nature should wait until 040 has more time to mature/learn. Allowing 040 access to X-Men comics pending O5 approval.
Against 682: If she were given explicit information about 682, and completely debriefed about every test done on 682 to date, she may be able to aid in 682's termination. Training in her abilities would be crucial for this to even work, and it must be quick. If 682 were to adapt to her living matter manipulation powers, it wouldn't be as bad as reality warping, but it would still be pretty bad. Pending O5 approval.
