Summary: SCP-059 is a mineral that may be from an alternate universe, as it emits not just alpha, beta, and gamma radiation, but also an unknown type of radiation (designated 'Delta' radiation by personnel). 059 glows with a vibrant blue, similar to objects emitting Cherenkov radiation. While the range of the 'Delta' radiation is usually 20 m, a barrier of graded-Z laminate and another barrier of super dense metals can reduce that range to only 6 m. Areas exposed to 'Delta' radiation will begin to grow instances of SCP-059-1, an unknown species of fungus. This species seems to rely on 'Delta' radiation exposure to survive, but does not produce any of its own. If enough 059-1 grows, 'Delta' radiation is emitted from an unknown source, the affected areas/objects turn transparent, and they presumably disappear into the universe from whence they came. Infected living individuals will try to infect others. Humans infected with 059-1 instances report seeing everything covered in the blue mineral, and are generally pleased with the view. Further study reveals that 059-1 instances may be trying to communicate with us through controlled radiation emissions. Analyzation of the language is currently ongoing.
Usefulness: Not useful, though it is quite pretty.
Against 682: Since infected humans attempt to infect other people with 059-1, it wouldn't be a good idea to expose 682 to it. Also, it may build up an immunity to it. Odds are that even if it does work, and 682 is transported to the "blue universe", another 682 from that same universe would probably get sent here in return.
