Summary: SCP-098 is an undiscovered species of crab. They are larger than normal crabs, and instead of claws, they have sharp knife-like structures made of silica. Prefer to inhabit environments with shallow pools of water and places to hide. Subjects can make vocalizations and breath in both air and water. When hungry, the crabs will display pack hunting properties. They will surround the small prey animal; one will distract the prey while other instances slice at the prey's leg tendons until incapacitation is achieved. To prevent blood loss or infection in the prey, a mucous substance is excreted on the wounds and quickly hardens. The crabs also make sounds attributed to the animal being eaten to disorientate it further. In order to feed, the crabs cut out small chunks of meat and consume them, until the prey dies. Feeding times vary, it all depends on how long the prey survives. They're adaptable and capable of recognizing patterns, as well as rudimentary communications amongst each other.
Usefulness: Despite what the name suggests, these crabs do not practice surgery, so their skills are not helpful in the slightest.
Against 682: 098 instances rarely even finish their meals, I doubt they could permanently kill 682, especially since they usually only go for small prey. However, if enough instances were present, it may be possible, though such levels of 098 instances would be dangerous. Quantity over quality.
