One and a half months later.

It's Friday and the girls decided to hang out. They went to their favorite restaurant and then decided to spend some time at Mezzo.

In two weeks will be the beginning of a new semester. Khae is currently on her third year in college. She is taking up Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She and Lindtsey, together with their friends Yves and Francheska, go to the same school. However, they have different courses.

"Are you guys excited?" asked Yves, who is the most studious among them.

"Of course, I am. I'll get to see Nica more often." Francheska said giddily.

Everyone rolled their eyes. They know Francheska has a huge crush on Nica. A girl who is famous in their school for being a student leader and being exceptionally talented. She's pretty, too.

"Are you two dating secretly?" Lindtsey asked suspiciously. She raised her eyebrow.

"Not in this lifetime. Nica will never notice Francheska." Khae said grinning. She wanted to tease her.

"Hey!" Francheska made a face. "Just you wait and see!" "This semester is not ending without me and Nica being a couple." She said with conviction.

"Really? I doubt it, Francheska." Khae said trying to annoy her.

"Listen... If you and Nica become a couple, I'll do all your assignments and projects for the whole semester," said Yves challenging Francheska.

"Okay, deal!" Francheska said with excitement. "But what about Khae?"

"What about me? This is just about you, duh." Khae took another sip of her coffee.

"Okay, here's the deal." Miss Mikhaela Lim, get a girlfriend or a boyfriend, or whatever... and in return, I will cut my hair short just like that!" said Lindtsey in a serious tone while pointing at the barista wearing a bob hairstyle.

"You can't be serious, Lindtsey!" everybody exclaimed. The girls know Lindtsey loves her long hair so much.

"Well, I am. I'm gonna do it." said Lindtsey.

"That's absurd!" Khae chuckled. "I am not getting into a relationship. Periodt."

"What? Is it a deal or no deal? Lindtsey asked, although she already knew the answer.

"No deal" Khae said in disinterested voice. "Next topic, please."

"But why?" the girls asked her.

"I don't want it." Khae answered blankly. She crossed her arms.

"I think it's about time you let other people see the real you, Khae." The whole world deserves to know what we know about you." said Lindtsey.

Suddenly the conversation became serious.

"Let them see what you let us see when it's just the four of us." Francheska said to Khae.

Her friends know that Khae has been avoiding people. Outside school, she does not talk to anyone else except them. She is not interested in meeting new people. She does not want to be in a relationship. And although they understand her, they don't want Khae to be like that forever.

"Don't keep your door shut to people who want to know you, to be with you, to love you..." Yves said and sat beside Khae.

"To love me? And then what, Yves? Leave me?" There's sadness and bitterness in Khae's voice.

"Of course, not! Khae, not all pe—"

"I'm not made for relationships." I am not capable of love." Khae uttered.

"You are, Khae" Yves said. She held Khae's hands. "Us, your friends, know that. Right, girls?" She said looking at Francheska and Lindtsey.

"Of course," said the two.

"Don't be too hard on yourself, Khae. The fact that you had built a friendship with us proves that you know how to love, care for, and trust." Yves added.

Khae lowered her head and fell silent. She's trying to absorb what her friends are telling her. Am I really capable of love?
