"Why?" asked Khae.

"She's waiting for you." Khae said grinning.

"But why? I'm kinda nervous now. Why is she waiting for me?"

"'Told her you're here so she asked me to invite you inside... Let's go?" Aiah turned to open the door but Khae stopped her.

"Baby, wait—

"What? She's waiting, babe. Let's go." Aiah is trying so hard to act and look clueless.

Khae looked at Aiah.

"What?" Aiah asked with blank expression.

"Hmm" Go now, Khae if you don't want her to be angry again!

"OK. Let's go." Khae took off her cap and got out of the car.

Inside the house...

"Good afternoon, Tita." Khae greeted Ivy.

"Good afternoon, how are you? Please sit down."

"I'm fine, Tita. Thanks. How are you?" Khae sat beside Aiah.

Ivy looked at them with a raised eyebrow. Khae realized she was sitting too close to Aiah. She moved a bit to leave a space between them.

"Ehem" Ivy cleared her throat.

Khae moved a little bit farther away.

"Do you guys have plans tonight?" Asked Ivy.

"No, Tita." Aiah answered.

"Oh, then how about joining us for dinner, Khae?"

"Ahm, I'd love to Tita, but—" Khae wants to decline. She is not comfortable; there's something in Ivy's look that makes her a little uneasy. She looked at Aiah. Baby, help!

"I'd like to know more about my niece's girlfriend. I'd like to know more about you." said Ivy while looking straight into Khae's eyes.

Khae was shocked by what Ivy said. She knows!

Khae gave Aiah a questioning look but Aiah just bit her lower lip. Why didn't you tell me earlier?

"We need to talk." Ivy said in a serious tone.

"S-sure, Tita." Khae's palms are getting sweaty.

"Aiah, can you give us a minute, please?" Ivy asked.

Aiah looked at Khae.

Don't leave me, please. Khae is hoping Aiah won't leave.

"OK, Tita." Aiah said and smiled at Khae. "See you later."

Nooooo!

It's just Khae and Ivy now in the living room.

"So, tell me, what's your real name, Khae?" Ivy asked.

"Mikhaela, Tita. Mikhaela Lim."

"How old are you?

"I'm turning 19 in two months, Tita."

"Ohh. Aiah's turning 20. She's a year older. How did you meet?

"We're classmates in one subject, Tita."

"Ohh, same course?"

"No, Tita, I am taking up BA-Comm."

"OK." Ivy sat back. She's looking at Khae intently.

Khae is aware of Ivy's scrutiny; she feels uncomfortable.

"I noticed Aiah cried earlier, did you have a fight?" Ivy said in a formal tone.

"No, Tita. It was just a little misunderstanding." Khae answered.

"You know, Aiah is my responsibility. She is my niece and I love her. It's my job to protect her." Ivy said.

"I know, Tita. We already talked it out. I am sorry if she cried, I really feel bad about it." Khae apologized.

"I am not against your relationship, Khae. But expect me to be strict and be protective of Aiah."

"Thank you, Tita. I understand and I appreciate it."

"You are aware that Aiah's dad is against this, right? Aiah wants to tell her dad about you two but I said no."

Khae was just listening to Ivy.

"I hope you understand that, Khae."

"I-I do, Tita." Khae answered. "I will wait for the right time when Aiah and I can tell them about us."

"OK. But what about your family?"

"My Dad knows, Tita. I already introduced Aiah to him."

"OK, that's a relief. Thank you for doing that." Ivy said.

Ivy asked more questions. It was basically a night of getting-to-know-each-other. Ivy told Khae that she's welcome to their house and that she'd appreciate it if she would visit more often. She'd like to see how sincere and how pure her intentions are to Aiah. In other words, Mikhaela Lim has to impress Ivy. Though Ivy told them she's not against it, the two still have to seek for her approval.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier, hmm?" Khae asked.

They're outside. Khae's about to get in the car. She had dinner with Aiah's family. She had a long serious talk with Aiah's aunt.

"Sorry baby, Tita asked me not to tell you."

"Hmm. I was shocked."

"I know, I saw your reaction, haha!"

"How did she know?" Khae asked.

Aiah told Khae what Ivy said earlier.

"Ohh... I'm happy that she's not against it, but I still have to woo her..."

"Hmm. I can tell she already likes you." Aiah said.

"Hmm. You think so?"

"Yup!"

"And she told me that you wanted to tell your dad about us."

"Yes, I did."

"Thank you, baby. But let's just follow what Tita Ivy said, OK? Let's wait for the perfect time to tell your parents."

"Yes, babe... Hey, you need to go now. It's late."

"I'll see you tomorrow."

"Take care, baby." Aiah gave Khae a hug.

"Love you." Khae kissed Aiah on the forehead.

"I love you more."
