Chapter 22

Khae and Aiah were holding hands when they went out of the classroom.

They don't usually do that, they only hold hands or sit close together at the gazebo where it's just them or with their friends. It's their safe haven.

But today, both of them don't seem to care what others may think anymore.

"Where would you like to eat?" Khae asked while looking at her girlfriend.

"Anywhere. Oh, wait. Gwen's calling."

Aiah answered the call.

"Yes, Gwenny?" Aiah's left hand is holding the phone and the other one is clasped together with Khae's.

"Cous, are you OK?" Gwen immediately asked when Aiah picked up.

"Yes, I am." Yves told you?" Aiah already has an idea why Gwen called.

"Yes. Did you talk it out?"

"Yup, we did. We're OK now." Aiah smiled.

"Glad to hear that. We'll talk later, OK? Have to go. 'Got class now. Love you."

"OK. Love you."

Aiah hung up.

"Babe—" Aiah looked at Khae.

"Hi Khae!" 

Khae was startled when somebody from behind called her name. She unconsciously let go of Aiah's hand. Khae glanced back and was surprised to see Reign.

"Reign? Hi!"

She met Reign yesterday. When she went to Gwen's house to surprise Aiah, she became unaware of the time while they were together. When she reached school, she was rushing to her class and accidentally bumped Reign with her shoulder when they met at the stairs. Reign was caught off balance causing her to also hit her arm on the railing.

"Oh my gosh, are you OK?" Khae asked in a worried tone.

"I'm sorry—" Khae bit her lip. She's certain the girl is hurt. She felt guilty.

Reign looked at the girl who bumped her. Her voice caught her attention, it sounded so good. Oh my, she's pretty, too!

"I-it's OK. My fault. I wasn't looking." Said Reign while touching her hurt arm. Her shoulder also feels a little bit of pain.

"No. It is my fault. I was in a rush and was not careful. I'm sorry."

"Here—" Khae picked up Reign's phone and gave it to her.

Reign pursed her lips. She's starting to feel the pain on her arm.

"You're hurt. Should I take you to the clinic?"

"No no. I'm fine. You said you're in a rush. You can go now." Said Reign.

"Are you sure? Khae couldn't decide whether to leave her or insist to take her to the clinic. But she realized she's already late. 'Oh no! I have a Major exam to take! Fudge, I'm late!'

"Uh, Miss I'm really sorry for what happened. But since you don't wanna go to the clinic, I'm gonna have to leave now. I have exam today."

"Yeah, sure."

"What's your name, by the way?"

"Reign."

"I'm Khae. Uhh, may I? Khae asked while pointing at Reign's phone.

Reign gave her phone to Khae.

"OK. Here's my number. Call me if you need to be hospitalized. Or if you wanna sue me for damages or whatever! Khae said while typing her phone number. Reign was amused. She couldn't help but smile. Kk??" Khae gave back to Reign her phone. She waved bye and left in a hurry.

"Do you also attend classes here?" Reign asked. She didn't expect to see Khae in their building.

"Nope. Oh my gosh! Did you get that from yesterday?" Khae's eyes widened when she saw Reign's arm. It has a big bruise.

"Uhm, yeah."

"That's big. I'm sure that hurts." Said Khae feeling guilty. She was about to touch it when—

"Ehem—"

Khae automatically shifted her gaze to Aiah.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Aiah, this is Reign. Reign, Aiah..."

"Hello, Aiah" Reign smiled at her.

" 'Lo" Aiah said shortly. She has never seen Reign before. Is she friends with my girlfriend?

Khae's attention went back to Reign.

"You should've put ice on it. If it was treated right away then it wouldn't have turned out like that."

"Haha, it's OK. This will heal in no time. Don't worry." Reign could not help but smile. She could see how worried Khae is. She finds that cute. They know each other by name only but the concern she's showing is genuine. She is nice. And not to mention, she's so pretty. Oh, the girl she's with is pretty, too. But she does not seem friendly. Reign thought.

"Are you free now? Khae asked Reign. She wanted to make it up to her. "We're actually on our way to grab a bite. Would you like to join us?"

"Uhm, actually, I just attended my last class for today—"

"Great! So, you're joining us?" Khae smiled.

Reign was reluctant at first. She looked at Aiah. She was being quiet. She felt like she's the type that she won't be on the same wavelength with. Then she looked at Khae, she's just too charming that she can't say no. She shifted her gaze back to Aiah, who's now looking at Khae. You're taking too long, bestie. Say yes, now! This is your chance to know Khae more.

"Y-yeah, I'd love to."
