Khae went back to the villa.
She took off her glasses and threw herself on the bed.
Aaaaah! What am I going to do?
She closed her eyes and what Aiah said earlier flashed back in her mind.
"Just stay away from me."
"NOOO!" Khae sat up. She took her phone out. She wants to call Aiah.
She is thinking of asking her to sort things out. If she had to plead a million times, she would. How could I stay away from you, Maraiah? That's literally asking me to breathe without my lungs.
Khae was about to call Aiah when Lindtsey's name flashed on the screen. She's calling.
"Yes, Lindts?"
"Are you okay?" Lindtsey's voice was low. Khae could hear the group talking in the background but they seem to be from a distance.
"I'd be lying if I say yes. She's mad at me, Lindts. And she wants me to stay away from her. I don't know what she meant by that." Khae told Lindtsey.
"I don't think she's mad, Khae. Disappointed, yes. Very. But can we blame her? You've--"
"I know. I know I effed up. I should have been more careful and more responsible. I didn't want to lose it, Lindts."
"This isn't just about the necklace anymore, Khae. I hope you are aware of that. Think of how many times you have had misunderstandings the past few days..."
Khae fell silent.
"I love you both. But this time, I sympathize with her more."
"Was I being too complacent?"
"Only you can answer that. You reflect, Khae."
"I want to talk to her. Where is she? What is she doing?"
"Uhm, I don't think she'd want to. By the way, I called because she wanted me to ask if we could go home earlier?"
"Why? Does she hate me that much that she can't wait to go home?"
"Her parents are waiting at Gwen's."
"What?!"
"Gwen's mom called right after you left. Can I just tell her we're gonna leave after lunch?"
"Y-yes, please. Thanks."
"'You okay?" asked Lindtsey.
"Yup."
"OK. We're going back there now."
Khae is thinking about so many things at the moment.
How is she going to fix things with her?
Are they going to be okay?
Is she going to meet Aiah's family soon?
Will they accept her?"I'm sorry Khae, she does not want to talk to you." said Francheska. Khae called her.
She had been knocking on their door but neither Aiah nor Francheska was opening it. Earlier, she tried to approach Aiah but she avoided her. Now, she's trying again. It's almost time for them to go home.
"Don't open the door, Francheska. Please."
Khae could hear Aiah from the background."Please, Chee... I don't wanna go home not sorting this out. Please, open the door." Khae is pleading.
