While having dinner...

"So how did you two meet?" Asked Marla.

Neither of the two wanted to answer Marla. Both of them were quiet.

"You mentioned earlier, you used to be best friends. How come you never came to our house?" Marcus was curious.

"Ahm, that was long ago Tito when I was not allowed to go anywhere without my mom."

Khae could not help but gaze at Amanda when she heard her speak.

"Ohh. That's why I never saw you in our place..."

"Yes, Tito. My mom was strict."

"How is she?"

"She's fine, Tito. Finally, after so many years I was able to leave her side."

"My sister is overprotective of Mandy. And the more she became ultra mega super duper extra overprotective when she and Mandy's dad separated few years ago." Marla told Marcus.

That caught Khae's attention. She didn't know Amanda's parents got separated. When? She never told her. Was it when... She slowly raised her head and glanced at Amanda.

"Oh. Sorry to hear that."

"It's fine, Tito. Everything's okay now. Sort of."

Amanda smiled at Marcus. Her parents have already forgiven each other. They are talking now unlike before. She is happy because they don't fight anymore.

"I'm glad to know that, Mandy." Said Marcus.

Now, it's time to face her other nightmare that haunted her for years. Amanda gazed at Khae's direction. Her heart skipped a beat when their eyes met.

Locking eyes with Amanda makes her uncomfortable. Seeing her tonight brings back the memories of the past. Those times when they were happy... Khae, you're supposed to be hating her. Why do you remember the good memories more than the bad ones? She left you without any explanation. She gave up first and lowered her head. She couldn't stare long at the girl who once had her heart. Don't forget she broke it, too. Khae reminded herself.

Amanda, on the other hand, wanted nothing but to stare deeply into those eyes. She had been longing for those in a long time. When Khae looked away, she realized she has not forgiven her yet. She felt sad but she was hopeful and determined. I will do everything for you to forgive me, Khae.

"Khae, could you please bring Amanda home? Your Tita Marla has to go back to her office to get some important documents." Marcus asked Khae.

"Tito, I'll take a taxi. I'll be fine." Said Amanda. Although she would really love to be with her, she knows that Khae hates the idea.

"But it's safer if Khae will drive you home." Said Marcus. He is worried about Amanda.

"Just come with us-" Marla suggested.

"I'll drive her home." Said Khae after a while. She did not want to but then she does not want to say no to her dad. And she will do it for Marla. Really, Khae? Or are you saying yes because you still care? Khae dismissed the idea.

Amanda could not believe what she heard. She suddenly felt nervous.

"Y-you don't have to. I can take a taxi."

"Nonsense. I'll drive you home."

"But--"
