Chapter 18

"What's wrong?" The girls asked Aiah.

"Where's Khae?"

Aiah was alone when she arrived at the gazebo.

"Don't know", Aiah shortly answered. It's obvious on her face that she's not in a good mood.

"Did you two fight?" Gwen asked her cousin.

"Oh, there she is!" Yves said. Everyone's attention went to Khae.

"Hi, what's up?" The girls greeted Khae when she reached the gazebo.

Khae took a seat, and to everyone's surprise, not beside Aiah.

"Ohhh..." Lindtsey reacted.

The girls were looking at one another. They wonder who will talk first.

"Ehem--" said Francheska.

"Girls, we were waiting for you."

"We were planning to go to Mezzo"

"K." Said Khae blankly.

"Uhm..." Yves does not know what to say, she knows Khae when in a bad mood. She does not want to talk.

Yves then turned to Aiah...

"Aiah, would you like to join us?" Yves asked.

Aiah does not feel like going but she does not want to disappoint the girls. And besides, they waited for them.

"Okay, I am going with you." She then said after a while.

Khae frowned when she heard Aiah. Really now? We're not okay and you will just leave me here?

"Ahm, Khae...?" Lindtsey gave her a questioning look.

"I'm not coming" Khae said.

"But Aiah's co--"

"Let's go, girls." Aiah stood up and took Lindtsey's hand.

"You're not going!" Khae said irritably.

The girls stopped.

"And why not?!" Aiah scowled at Khae.

"Uhm, guys, relax." Said Francheska.

"I think you should stay." Gwen told Aiah.

"I don't want to. She's annoying. Tss." said Aiah.

"Hah! As if she's not" Khae rolled her eyes.

"Hep! Wait--" Talk it out, okay?" Gwen said.

Both Khae and Aiah made a face.

"We'll get going. Just follow us when you're done talking." Lindtsey said.

The girls left a couple of minutes ago but nobody wants to speak first between the two.

Aiah took her phone out of her bag.

Here we go again! Khae already knows that Aiah will ignore her. Fine. Let's keep ignoring each other.

Aiah pretended to be busy looking at something.

Another two minutes have passed...

Aiah was scrolling through her phone when suddenly she felt dizzy. She closed her eyes.

Few moments later, she already felt the throbbing pain on her head. She touched her temple.

Khae saw what Aiah did. She could tell that Aiah is not okay. Khae suddenly forgot about their misunderstanding.

She went to where Aiah is sitting.

"Baby..."

Aiah raised her head and saw Khae standing in front of her.

She just gave Khae a quick glance then immediately looked away.

"Hey—" Khae is worried.

"'You alright?"

Aiah slightly shook her head.

"What's wrong?"

"Look at me..." Khae said softly.

Aiah is contemplating whether or not talk to Khae.
Stop sulking, Aiah. Swallow your pride.

"I'm sorry, baby—Can we not fight anymore, please?" Khae apologized.

When Aiah heard Khae speak, she realized her mistakes.

"I'm sorry, too. I should have been more understanding. I've focused only on my own feelings"  she said and tears started to fall from her eyes.

"Hey— Why are you crying?"

"I don't know. They just fall and I hate it." She said crying and could not help but to laugh at herself, too. Aiah is not sure if she's crying because she's got severe headache or  she's just too emotional right now. Today, they had their first fight. Aiah is not happy about it. If it wasn't for me we wouldn't have fought.

"You don't seem well, are you in pain?" Khae asked worriedly. She can't stand the sight of Aiah crying.

"My head feels like it's gonna explode..."

"Ohh..." Khae's hand automatically touched Aiah's forehead.

"I've meds in the car." Let's go so you can take one. Then I'll take you home. Come—"  Khae said with so much care and concern.

Aiah cried louder when she heard Khae. Why are you  like this? Why are you so caring? Do I even deserve you?  Aiah feels bad for arguing with her earlier.

"Hey— Shhh... what's wrong?  Should I take you to a doctor now?

"I'm sorry..." Aiah said after calming herself.

"For what?" asked Khae.

"For annoying you earlier..."

"For annoying me, you're forgiven, but I did the same so please forgive me, too." Khae said.

"I  don't want us to fight anymore."

"I don't want either."

"Earlier, I said you were overreacting. I guess I just said that because I wasn't seeing the fact that you're just being protective—but now I do."

"Hmm. Yeah, I am. But I'm guilty of being jealous, too. I know it's not a good thing. I will try to be better, okay?"

"I won't wear something like this anymore..."

"Hey, no. Don't... I'm gonna feel bad if you do it..."

"But I don't want this to happen again—"

"It's my mindset that needs a change, not your way of dressing up, okay?"

"Hmm.."

"Come, I'll take you home."

"Thank you, baby for taking care of me."

Khae gave Aiah meds. She called the girls to inform them that Aiah isn't feeling well and they won't be able to join them.
