Cara and Scott then arrive in Chicago, they check into their Air B and B. Cara knows she wants to go see Kevin but she Doesn't know how Scott will take it.
"Right I'll go do the grocery shopping" Cara announced
"In your uniform?" Scott asked
"Uhm yeah! I need to unpack all my things and it's just easier to go now" Cara explained before slipping out the door
Cara looked up Kevin before finding a picture of him at his unit, She drove down and walked in. She came across this older woman standing at the front desk
"Uhm hi! I'm looking for a Kevin Atwater?" Cara asked
"Don't tell me he's in trouble with the army now?!" Trudy asked
"Oh no! I just got back from a years deployment in France so that's why I'm in the uniform" Cara explained
"Ugh is this gonna be one of those sappy solider reunions?!" Trudy asked
"Can you call him please?" Cara asked
"Fine" Trudy added before walking away
Cara sat down and placed her Army cap over her freshly did hair, she sat and waited until she saw Kevin walking down the stairs.
"Who's waiting for me platt?" Kevin asked as Cara got up
"Kevin Atwater!" Cara said as Kevin's eyes landed on her
"Cara!" Kevin yelled before picking her up and wrapping her into a big bare hug
"I missed you!" Cara replied as he placed her down
"So where have you been the past 10 years?!" Kevin asked as they sat down
"Well I was in Afghanistan for 5 years, Italy for 2, Australia for 2 and France for 1!" Cara explains as Kevin smiles
"So what are you doing back here?" Kevin asked
"Well I've been deployed here for 2 years, I'm helping out at the academy and then I go back to Afghan" Cara explained
"That's amazing Cara! I've just been here! I'm a detective now! Life couldn't get any better" Kevin explained
"Aww I'm happy for you Kev!" Cara said before looking at the time
"Hey I'm running late for something! Catch up over dinner?" Cara asked as she stood up
"Just shoot me a text" Kevin said before Cara walked out
She wasn't running late for something, she was late on getting home. Scott had told her to be back for 5 and it was now 6. She rushed home and saw Scott sitting on the couch with that pissed look on his face.
"So you blow me off to hang out with another man?!" Scott yelled
"What?" Cara asked
"You were down at a police station, talking to some black cop!" Scott yelled as he got up from his seat
"I worked with him a long time ago! What's up your ass!?" Cara yelled as she felt someone grab her hand
"I'm the man here! You don't ever talk to me that way! God woman these days don't have any respect for guys!" Scott yelled as he gripped Cara's arm tighter
"Get fucking off of me!" Cara yelled, squirming

*Caras POV*
"You think you can talk to me like that! We've been over this! You don't use that sullen tone with me! Your nothing but a scared little bitch!" Scott yelled which made my blood boil
"Oh I'm the scared one! Well at least I'm not a woman hitter!" I screamed as he let go of my arm and pushed me away
I fell into the corner of the table, hitting the side of my eye against it. I felt the blood trickle down the side of my face and lifted my hands up towards the injury. I removed my hands to reveal my fingertips covered in blood. I looked up at Scott who looked like he had seen a ghost. He rushed over to me and knelt down
"Oh my god Cara, I'm so sorry" He apologised
I looked at him with disgust
"Please cara! You know I would never hurt you" Scott said as he started to wipe down my eye
"I think I'm going to need this looked at" I said trying to get up
"Hey no! You can't! I didn't mean to hit you! It-It was a mistake!" Scott yelled as he started to grab my wrist again but this time harder
"Scott! Let go of me!" I yelled as he backed away
I looked at my wrist to reveal the slightly red marks which had been left on my arms. I simply looked at Scott before walking away....
