Lan Zhan pushed him off so fast, his head was spinning. By the time Wei Ying opened his eyes, he was sitting in a puddle of a blanket.

All alone.

Why did that want to make him cry?

He had been so happy, just moments ago...having fun like they used to. Easy company, just happy together. But then he had gone and fallen for his best friend...and that had changed everything.

Maybe Lan Zhan knew and wanted to avoid him from now on? Maybe he had seen something in the way Wei Ying had looked at him? But to be fair, it was Lan Zhan who had initiated today's drama.

And how was Wei Ying going to face him after that?

The almost kiss.

A kiss worth dying for...Wei Ying felt electrified at the memory, those gorgeous golden eyes full of affection for him.

Their front door slammed and jolted him out of his thoughts. Lan Zhan had left.

He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding onto, lying back down in defeat.

Now what? If he had spoiled things with Lan Zhan...what would happen to them now? Would he have to leave? Of course, that would be the right thing to do...maybe he could go couch surfing with his brother until he found another place to live?

But the thought of leaving Lan Zhan broke his heart, and the tears did come then.

His mind showed him all of their happy times together, when they first met each other in university, how Lan Zhan had awkwardly held out his hand to shake, but Wei Ying was a hugger, and true to form, showed his friend how nice hugging could be. Only to learn later on that Lan Zhan only received hugs from his brother, and even then, not many. Lan Zhan had grown up lonely...those were the words he did not have to say. And Wei Ying had made up his mind right then, that Lan Zhan would never be lonely as long as he was around.

They kind of stuck together after that. Wei Ying’s naturally outgoing personality made him a magnet for more friends and trouble, but somehow he always managed to make room from the quiet, taller Lan, including him in activities he would never have otherwise participated in.

Gradually, they learned how to live with each other, understanding the way the other thought, the way they each moved around the other in perfect symphony.

When they had moved in together, it seemed like the best plan. Was definitely the best plan at the time. Wei Ying could not imagine living anywhere Lan Zhan was not, but now...

He must have fallen asleep because little tiny licks woke him up. Something incredibly soft and furry tickled his nose, and he sneezed. Sitting up, he saw Ji, the white rabbit had woken him up, licking his face.

He picked up the soft creature, burying his face in the fluffy fur and immediately feeling better.

"Wait...how did you get out?" He stood up precariously, mindful not to fall down again, and picked his way out of the blanket.

But when he got to their living room, he stood rooted to his spot.

It was one big mess.

The rabbits had escaped...though he was definitely going to figure out how, later. For now, he had to tidy this disaster up as soon as he could, preferably before Lan Zhan got back.

Wu was still missing, but there was chewed up paper pieces strewn all over the room. The floor was covered in bits of white paper, looking like a wedding hall confetti shambles.

It was everywhere!

Just when had the rabbits gotten out of their cage? Didn't Lan Zhan notice anything before he left?
