THURSDAY
Lan Zhan was just about to go and look for Wei Ying when his phone rang.
"Ji-Xiong...news...you...important...."
"Huaisang, it's a bad line. I can't hear you." Lan Zhan said, barely keeping himself from shouting.
"I'll...again..."
The connection ended and then his phone rang again.
"Can...me..now?"
"No!" Lan Zhan felt agitated. On the one hand, he wanted to go and find Wei Ying, but Huaisang had gone for this very reason, to bring back vital information, only it was so frustrating that he was somewhere where the signal was so terrible.
"Sending...important...look...pictures..."
The line was disconnected again. Lan Zhan looked at his phone one more time and then decided, that was why it was a mobile - he could walk with it. But just as he reached the door where the policemen were leaving from, his phone pinged twice and he opened the app.
What he saw made his blood run cold.
"Wait!" He barked at cops, stopping them from leaving. "Look at this! I have a private investigator making inquiries for me in Denver right now. This is what he found." He showed the detectives two pictures.
One was a clearly marked grave that read "Xue Yang, beloved brother and partner of Lan Su She." Followed by his birth and death dates.
But it was the second picture that had the police scrambling to attention.
There was another grave, this one with a smaller plaque which read, "Here lies Su She, beloved son and partner. May he rest in peace."
One of the detectives swore out loud.
"If that's your Su She, then who the hell is the one who's working here?"

Wei Ying looked out across the desks on his way to the bathroom. One or two lights were on at the individual places, but otherwise everyone had gone home for the day. He was feeling tired himself and he had to stretch before entering the staff toilets. He was wondering how long it was going to take Lan Zhan after eight; and a small part of him was hoping that the person who had arranged this meeting would be done quickly so they could go home.
He thought about how often Lan Zhan had to stay late, or work harder on some days. He didn't mind but Wei Ying did...and especially since they'd established that Thursdays were going to be their thing now.
He felt a little bit bad now, for adding the spices to their food, maybe separate portions would be a better idea, and they could still feed each other. That had been the most romantic breakfast of his life and he couldn't wait to repeat it.
And when they had shared the chocolate bunny...Lan Zhan was so hot!
This bathroom was nice as bathrooms went. It had soft yellow lighting, rather than a clinical white, and was peach with burgundy accents instead of greens and blues that were more on the traditional side. All the doors were open, indicating he was alone here.
He smiled to himself as he finished up and went to the sink to wash his hands. But a noise behind him had him looking straight up.
Lan Su She was right there, staring back at him in the mirror.

"You need to take us to your security personnel, right now." The senior detective demanded.
