Pictures of Me Part Two

It's much later, after Wei Ying has recovered from his onslaught of epiphanies, that he remembers what he wanted to say to Lan Zhan.

He thinks of the wonderful things Lan Zhan has done for him, since the beginning of their time together.

It's hard to know what kind of a person Lan Zhan is, especially since it hasn't been long since they have been made aware of each other, but from how Lan Zhan has behaved, and from what he's said to Wei Ying both in text and via talking, Wei Ying is beginning to get an idea of who he is.

That he's pretty intense comes shining through.

But then he's also incredibly sweet. Wei Ying remembers Lan Zhan asking the florist to remove the thorns from the red roses and then apologising for it taking so long. It must have taken Lan Zhan some time to find a florist willing to do that for starters, but then getting them to deliver and letting Lan Zhan speak to him?

It makes Wei Ying kick his feet in glee on his bed, thrilled to the bone that Lan Zhan is romance personified. Who says to their fiance, "I want our journey together to be unhindered,"??

From the get go, Lan Zhan has been giving him outs, like when he told Wei Ying that he was under no obligation to go ahead with this marriage, that Wei Ying was free.

And then, when he had that awful panic attack, Lan Zhan stayed on the line while somehow getting Huaisang to come and fetch him.

From the very beginning, Lan Zhan has only shown him care and consideration.

It's this that makes Wei Ying so much braver, and he shoots off a text to HGB.

WY: If you don't mind, can we please talk? Just let me know when you're free?

WY: I just realised how that sounds!!😃🤣🤣🤣 Trust me, it's nothing bad!!

HGB: Of course. I'm in a meeting now, but it should be over soon.

Wei Ying can't resist. It's a prime opportunity.

WY: Ooooooh! Naughty Lan Er-Gege!! Texting while in an important meeting? How Shameless!! The audacity!!

Lan Zhan sends him a picture of his wrist, with his sleeve rolled up.

His forearms are bunched, the veins showing and the skin smooth with an expensive watch.

WY:🥵🤯🧐😈💀

HGB: Wei Ying will have to translate those. I am not familiar beyond the death one, and my brother says emojis are a whole other language.

Wei Ying screams into his pillows.

And then to pay him back, he sends more pictures, each one racier than the last.

It was a good idea to take all those pictures in all those outfits a few days ago.

Lan Zhan sends him two gifs: the first one is a man clapping exaggeratedly, and the second one is of a man melting and falling into a pit of lava.

Mission accomplished…

Half an hour later, Wei Ying is curled up with Suibian, his grey Persian cat, when he gets a message that Lan Zhan is on a break. He quickly snaps a picture of her and sends it, before hitting the call button. She's blinking up at him with her freaky yellow eyes and the purring hasn't stopped yet.

Wei Ying loves her so much! They found each other one wet day in Yunmeng, and neither looked back.

Lan Zhan says, "Who's that? They look adorable! Name?"
