The Legendary Crystal in the media:
Lyra's POV:

My eyes fluttered open in the morning.

The hooded lady spoke in parables the whole night telling me I had to learn about my history and who I am.

Though she still didn't show her face, she said I would learn at the end of today and would have a real conversation.

The grass beneath me was so soft to the touch and smelt so good…

WAIT?!

GRASS?!

I jumped up with full awareness that I wasn't in my bedroom…but where was I?

I'm not known for sleepwalking; it's never happened before.

"I see you're finally awake" the queen caught me off guard.

How long had she been standing behind me and watch me sleep?

"your majesty! I'm so sorry, this isn't what it looks like" though I had no idea what it looked like.

"everything is ok. I know you didn't come here intentionally…she led you here" the queen smiled.

"who?" does she know about the hooded lady too?

"the great priestess" I almost laughed.

"look around you" and I did.

We were in some beautiful garden with a huge tree right in the middle.

Butterflies were flying around the place and there were certain bushes here and there.

Overall it had a warm and spiritual feeling; it felt like it was in another world.

"come…walk with me" she placed her hand on my back and lead me towards the tree.

"do you know about the legendary crystal and its prison?" she asked.

"a bit. My me-maw would tell me stories about it. She said it was a special gem that could boost the powers of the priestess but I never believed it"

As we got closer to the tree I saw the crystal with my own two eyes and it was more beautiful than anything I had ever seen!

It wasn't hidden totally by the tree but it was still beautiful.

"I can't believe it"

"do you know about the curse?" the queen asked again.

"well; I heard that it would curse those who try to pull it out for greed and wrong purposes…and if they weren't the chosen one" I spoke while looking at the crystal.

"for someone who doesn't believe in the priestess, I'm shocked to discover you know about all this"

"well my me-maw was a big fan of hers…" I said shyly.

"well the prophesy wasn't all true…" she paused looking at the crystal.

"want to try pulling it out?" she asked playfully.

"I don't want to get cursed and die before my time"

"you won't and if you were meant to die, you would have when I saw you in here" she smiled rubbing my back.

"but…"

"don't be shy; just try it" she urged.

I took a deep breath and moved closer and closer to the crystal. Its glow was mesmerizing and very tempting.

I could now see why it posed a threat.

Carefully, I placed my hands on the crystal alone, hoping not to regret this decision.

With one swift pull, the crystal came right out of the tree…

How?

Why?

t-this isn't meant to happen!

I stared at the jewel with so much wonder and confusion.

How was I able to pull out this jewel that even the strongest of men couldn't?

Why am I suddenly the chosen one?

I don't even believe in the priestess.

"the prophesy you know of isn't true" the queen got my attention.

That was when I noticed that I was surrounded by my friends and the rest of the royal family but they weren't too close to the tree.

"w-what d-d-do you mean?" the words forcefully left my mouth.

"though the prophesy stated that it was only the chosen one that could touch the crystal…it also stated that it's only the relatives or descendants of the priestess that could wield its power"

"what're you saying?"

"you are the last and only living descendant of Elaka and the next Khamatu" she bowed her head.

I looked around and was shocked to see everyone following in her footsteps.

Everything is happening so fast!

Why me of all people?

I never asked for any of this!

My heart began beating faster and faster and felt like it would jump out of my chest at any moment.

Beads of sweat formed on my head and it became harder to breathe.

Then everything went black…

Yep the big reveal but there's more to come.
