|THIRD|

When Hoseok wakes Jania up to board the plane, she has the nastiest attitude. There's a scowl on her face and she looks like she wants to punch him. She probably would have had they not been in public.

She sits in her seat and Hoseok sits next to her after putting their bags in the overhead bin. They sit in their seats, waiting for takeoff as the other passengers get settled in.

After they're in the air and the pilot lets them know that they can move about, Jania starts to feel sick. She crosses her arms and tries to get comfortable in the seat. After ten minutes of fidgeting around, Hoseok gets annoyed by her constant moving.

"Can you stop? Just pick a position and lay there."

"My stomach hurts." She whines.

"If you would have eaten something like I asked you to, we wouldn't be having this problem."

"I'm not hungry. I feel sick." She says as her stomach churns. He looks at her and sighs, closing his eyes. He forgot that she was pregnant for a moment. It seems that her luck has run out for evading morning sickness.

Jania gets up and walks to the bathroom. She empties the contents of her stomach and rinses her mouth out. When she gets back to the seat, Hoseok pulls out a bottle of water and a muffin for her.

"When did you buy this?"

"When you were sleeping. I figured you'd be hungry at some point during the flight." He opens the bottle for her and then tells her to wait. He reaches into her bag and pulls out a bottle of prenatal capsules.

She watches as he takes one out and closes it back. He hands it to her and she stares at the size of it before putting it on her tongue. She swallows it down with some water and is disgusted by the taste. It's not powdery, just gross.

"This is nasty."

"Too bad. You need it." He says as he pulls out his tablet.

"They don't have less gross ones?"

"They do but your iron is low so you're stuck with these until you get it together." He puts on a movie for them and they connect their AirPods.

Jania sulks as she watches it. She waits 30 minutes before she eats her muffin. She doesn't want to risk throwing up again. She falls asleep an hour into the flight and Hoseok puts her head on his shoulder.

I look at the stomach area of her hoodie and my  mind spins. The last time a girl said that she was pregnant with my baby, I didn't react the way that I did with Jania. I was overjoyed, happy as all hell.

I did everything that I was supposed to as a father and then some. Turns out things weren't as simple as they seemed. A guy that was a frequent patron of her job had come to me one day. He congratulated me on the baby and then proceeded to shatter every image of a happy home that I had ever had.

Women are terrible. They're gifted by nature and evil by conscience.

I do not need a repeat of the emotional drag that she put me through. Jania isn't over her sister's baby daddy and I'll be damned if I get deja vu. I don't care how much I care about her.

She moves around in her seat until she's comfortable again. My thoughts spiral as she sleeps. The prettiest of faces can be the attached to the most vile of humans. I think that I would actually lose my mind.

I stop thinking about it as my irritation level rises. I do some research before focusing on the movie. I stay up the entire flight watching movies and playing games. When the plane lands, I wake Jania up and she scowls at me again.
