|SEOKJIN|
26 weeks, 2 days"Daaaa!" London yells from the hallway as she stands up by herself. Her little eyebrows are furrowed and her lips are poked out.
"Yes?" I peek from the bathroom as she takes a few steps. She falls to her butt and glares at me.
"What did I do? Why you looking at me like that?"
She stands up again and puts her arms up.
"I can't pick you up right now. I gotta finish shaving. There's a razor in my hand. Give me a minute, okay? Just one." I hold a finger up and her lip quivers as she falls back to her butt.
"Please?"
She starts to cry and rubs her eyes.
"Okay, okay. I'm coming." I walk and pick her up and she lays her head on my shoulder. I put her pacifier in her mouth and she sucks on it as she pats my back with her little hand. Her eyes flutter as I continue to shave.
I only have one part of the left side to do so there's not much left. I just didn't want her near the razor. I'll just be extra careful. What would've taken a minute or two turns into four as I try not to cut myself.
London's dead weight is in my arm as she sleeps. She has not slept in her crib since we got back from the hospital.
And another revelation, she can walk. By herself. With no help at all. I knew that she was using things to pull herself up to do it. I knew she was using her walker. But she was not walking when I went to get her from her mom's house that day.
The last two weeks, she's been doing more and more, learning faster than I've ever seen her do anything. She changed the channel while I was watching the news yesterday. She didn't realize that she did it at first. Then she kept pushing it and looking at the TV and then at me with this giddy smile on her face.
She's one. Is she supposed to be this good at figuring stuff out? I don't even know.
The doorbell rings and I look at the time on my phone. It's 11 in the morning, the time that Margaret and I planned to meet today. Once a week for the next month and a half. Is it nerve wracking? Yes. Very. But it's what I have to do get full custody of London.
Paris was let out on bail but they're going to be charging her neglect of a child and knowingly giving London too much Tylenol. She's lucky that nothing else happened to her. Very lucky.
I told Namjoon about the situation and he was shocked. He couldn't believe it, neither could Yuki. She couldn't believe it but she said that a part wasn't surprised. It sounded like something that Paris would do.
I guess that she isn't wrong but it's our daughter. Her own blood. There's no way that she didn't know the risks. And her mother? For her to still try to defend the woman is insane. They're both insane.
I finish up with my face and pat it dry before walking to the front door. I open it up and see Margaret standing there.
"Good morning, Seokjin. Oh, is she sleeping?" She greets as she walks into the apartment."
"Good morning, Margaret. And yeah. She was fussing while I was shaving so I had to hold her while I finished." We go to the living room and sit on the couches.
"That's so precious. How's she been?"
"Good. She's walking on her own all the way now. She's still a little wobbly but she's moving around all by herself."
"And did you baby proof the home?" She asks as she looks around.
"It's been baby proofed since I moved in." I tell her as I move London from my shoulder to cradle her.
