"Just a water and lemon, please." I request from the bartender as I sit down. I check the time and sigh through my nose as I take my jacket off.

When Hoseok asked to meet up to talk, I wasn't sure what it'd be about. I assume that it's something important for him to want to the have the conversation in person. If anything else, he'd have just left it at a text message or called me.

He walks over to the bar from the bathroom and takes a seat at the stool next to me. The bartender looks to him as he brings me my water.

"Do you guys have Coke products?" Hoseok asks.

"Yep." The bartender says with a nod.

"Just a sprite then. Thank you."

"No problem, man."

He taps his fingertips against the bar top before looking at me.

"How was work?"

I shrug a little and sip from my glass. "Almost strangled my boss this morning but I'll be alright."

"What'd he do?" Hoseok chuckles.

"He's a prick. I told him that I couldn't come in on time next Tuesday because London has an appointment, and I already told him about it a month ago when I scheduled it. But he got all pissy about it like it was my fault that he didn't read the email or listen to me when I told him."

Hoseok's top lip curls. "He's not gonna dock you for that, is he? That's his problem that he didn't acknowledge it when you told him the first time."

"I don't know what he's gonna do. I don't really care either, though. He's been pissing me off lately. Joon and I are making more in commission for your projects than he's making for the people he manages personally. His clients have been transferring to private, like, self made manager teams rather than management companies so he's losing money."

"Oohh, so he's acting like a bitch." Hoseok understands. "He's mad you're making more than him. Envy is crazy."

I scoff with humor in my tone. "Yeah we've seen enough of it the last year and a half to know that."

"Mhm."

Not even anything to do with us, necessarily. But Jania. That one woman's very existence gets under the skin of people, women, more than anyone.

"That's actually a part of what I wanted to talk to you about." Hoseok says after taking a sip of his water.

I raise an eyebrow, mildly confused yet curious.

"You know about most of the shit that went on with me and Jah. Like in the beginning with the other women and thinking I got that other one pregnant and just-. Even now, with all of the mess surrounding who I entertained or slept with or who wants to sleep with me. They feel like they'll always some leg up on Jania or have something over her because of who I was. Like they'll never the shit go and let her be happy with me without them in her fucking comments or in mine or..." He inhales and rolls his eyes.

"Or if they ever bring up Mina." He finishes. "I don't want to keep going through this with Jah. Or have her going through it every time she turn around. It's exhausting and it's annoying as hell."

I nod in understanding. That makes sense. It's been said before that Jania couldn't really go anywhere without Hoseok knowing somebody. That wouldn't necessarily be a problem if it were all good intent or just cordial, respectful energy. But that isn't always the case. It wasn't before and it probably won't be now.

When Jania and Hoseok go out together, I'm sure women recognize him and speak. But before, they openly flirted with him as if Jania wasn't there which wasn't a problem at the time because that's what their... agreement was. But things are different now and people know that. It's been very strongly insinuated and basically confirmed in their comment section on Instagram.
