Kai has made it her life's mission to show me how fun nature can be. I spend my weekdays hero training at UA, and my evenings and weekends traveling the world with her. A good night's sleep is now a thing of the past. And to be honest, I don't know how I've survived for this long.

Great Barrier Reef, Australia

I've never really been one for the ocean. My quirk isn't exactly built for underwater, and Kirishima is the closest thing to a shark that I ever want to be around. But being with Kai actually makes me feel safe. As long as she's within reach, I can pretty much do anything without consequences.

After we get our goggles, she tells me to take a deep breath, then glitches us to the ocean floor.

The reef is a beautiful sight, there's an incredible amount of different species of coral and fish, everywhere you look is bursting with vibrant colors of life.

After a minute or two, I signal to Kai to take us up for air.

When we break the surface, Kai takes off her goggles. "So?" she says with a smile, "What do you think?"

   "I mean, it's pretty."

"Not fun enough for you?"

"Not as much as Tokyo or New York."

She rolls her eyes, then puts her goggles back on. "Alright, we're leaving."

"We don't have to leave. I do like it, cities are just better."

"No, you want fun? I'll show you fun. Hold your breath."

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see."

I take a deep breath, and we're off. I'm not sure how to describe the feeling of Kai's 'hyperdrive' as she calls it, when she glitches around at incredibly high speeds. It's a whirlwind of green lights and what feels like a sort of intense vibration, with a loud clinking in my ears that sort of sounds like the noise when you collect a coin in mariokart, over and over again. After a few minutes of this intense experience, we finally come to a stop.

Pacific Ocean, 214 km off the coast of Iceland

We're now treading water again, but this time in a much cooler, much deeper ocean.

   "Where are we?" I ask.

   "The open sea."

As I take a look around, I start to get a bit nervous. I don't like how I can't see the bottom of the water we're swimming in, anything could be out here.

"Um, okay." I say, trying to hide my apprehension of being floating ducks in the middle of the ocean. "If we're just at some random spot, why did it take so long to get here?"

   "I was looking for some."

I gulp. I don't like the sound of that. "Some what?" I ask reluctantly.

Before she even has to answer, I see exactly what she was talking about. A giant black fin glides above the water, only about 30 meters in front of us.

My heart begins to race. "What the fuck is that?" I say quietly, trying not to draw attention to us.

"It's an orca," she says with a smile, like it's nothing.

"Orca?! You mean a killer whale?!" I yell, completely losing the cool that I was trying so hard to keep.

"Hey! Don't call them that. They aren't killers. Not to humans at least."
