"Let's sing, Bakugo!" Kai's pestering voice begs over and over.
After a million no's, I finally decide that this girl is never gonna let up. Not to mention I'm starting to feel the effects of the alcohol pretty decently at this point, so much so, that something like singing an anime intro or two with my classmates sounds almost kinda fun.
"Fine," I groan.
Kai and Kirishima both stand and cheer.
The music starts, I stand, and Kai begins to sing. It's the worst version of Unravel I've ever heard, but Kirishima and Kai hold up their fists and sing their hearts out, and I guess that's all that matters. I actually start to sing with them, and I sing as well as I can, which is not very well at all. We all sounds like nails on a chalkboard, but hey, I think we're enjoying ourselves.
When we're finally done singing, Kai and Kirishima laugh as hard their bodies allow.
"Well, that was amazing," laughs Kai, "I've never heard a better version of Unravel!"
"Shut up, you liar!" I say.
"I wasn't lying!" she giggles, "That was awesome! I love you guys!" She pulls us both in for a side hug.
You know what? This is kinda nice. And as the night goes on, the drunker we get, and the more fun this is starting to seem.
After all three of us babble about manga and anime for nearly an hour, me and Kirishima's conversation soon turns into one about pro-heroes. And after a while, we start to get a little heated about which ones are actually worth shit.
"No fucking way," I say, "Hawks is fucking lame."
"How the heck is he lame man?!" says Kirishima, "Being that young and topping the hero charts?! You can't deny that that's badass."
"You know who's badass?" I reply. "The hero that made the crime rate in the entire country go down by a long shot! The one whose power is-"
"Guys, guys," Kai interjects. "Can we talk about something else now?"
I roll my eyes. "Like what?"
"I dunno," she says, then thinks for a moment. "Okay, if y'all could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?"
I pause for a moment, and furrow my brow at the random ass question. "Huh?"
"Anywhere in the world. Don't take money into account, either. You're up, Kitty-kat."
"Uh..." I say, "I've always wanted to go to Dubai, I guess."
She smiles, looking genuinely happy at my response. "Why?" she asks, seeming very interested for some reason.
I shrug. "The buildings are cool, I guess. And everyone is rich. I'm sure the nightlife is crazy, too."
"Nightlife?" she chuckles. "What, you wanna party hard?"
I sit back in my seat and fold my arms. "Well, when I'm world famous as the number-one hero, I'll have an entire entourage. It'd be cool to walk around the richest city in the world like I own the place."
She sets her beer down on the table, then sits back in her seat, folding her arms across her chest to mirror me. "You know, there's not many chicks to go around in the United Arab Emirates," she says.
"Huh?" I say.
"The ratio of men to women is 7 to 3 in that country."
"Why?" says Kirishima.
