When I finally open my eyes, they're seared by the white fluorescent lights of the infirmary.

"Aw, Kitty! You're awake!"

As much as I usually love to hear Kai's voice, it's not seeming to cheer me up right now.

"Did I win?" I mutter.

She crosses her arms. "I'm gonna give that All-Might bastard a piece of my mind. Symbol of peace my ass!"

   "Yeah. Did I win?"

"I can't believe that guy had the nerve to just knock you out like that!"

I sit up, and my head throbs even harder.

"I mean," she continues, "Some great teacher you are, knocking your students out cold!"

"Kai!"

"Hm?"

"Did I win?"

She sighs. "Yes."

"What happened?" I ask, rubbing my temples.

"Does it really matter?" she says with a wince.

"Of course it matters, idiot. Just tell me."

"Well... Deku kinda... punched All-Might, then carried you through the escape gate."

I groan at the thought of that Deku thinking he needed to 'save' me. The only reason he even had the opportunity to escape was because of me, and he jeopardized that so he could seem like some sort of hero? What a little pest!

Kai bends down so she's level with me. "But don't be mad, okay? You passed, and that's all that really matters." She plants a kiss on my cheek, then jumps up, clapping her hands all giddy. "Now we get to go to summer camp together!"

I put my tongue in my cheek.

She lowers her voice. "I don't think this camping trip could top the last one, but we'll see," she says with a wink.

I sigh. There's no use being mad about Deku right now, not with her here, anyway. Ever since last night, I've felt like a new man. I could hardly hold back my smile all day until I had to team up with that nerd. And how can I stay mad about that when I've got the perfect girl right here by my side? She's back to normal, and that makes me happier than Deku makes me mad.

"Knock, knock," says Kirishima as he waltzes through the open door. "Oh, hey Kai," he says, looking a little surprised to see her.

"Hey, Kiri," she says with a warm smile.

He leans against the wall. "Yo, nice job totally humiliating Snipe like that! It was so satisfying to see a student breeze through the exam with style!"

Shit, I didn't even think to ask her how her fight went. I didn't even realize she got her hand fixed up! I'm a terrible boyfriend!

"What happened with Snipe?" I ask.

"Oh, dude, you shoulda seen it!" Kirishima laughs. "All she had to do was glitch to the escape gate, right? But no, immediately after starting, she glitched the poor guy into a manhole, and he had to watch helplessly ass she danced and cartwheeled her way out the door! It was amazing!"

I shake my head with a chuckle. "Kai, you're such an asshole."

She shrugs. "I wanted to end the semester with a bang."

"Yeah," Kirishima smiles. "It's nice to see you acting like yourself again."

"Yeahh," she says, sort of blowing it off. I guess she doesn't realize how happy we are to have her back. "Sucks about your fight, though. Summer camp won't be the same without you."

Kirishima sighs and rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah, it bites."

"You didn't pass?" I ask.

"Nah, but it's okay. I'm just happy for you guys. How ya feelin, Bakubro?"

"Tired."

"Alright, well I was just stopping by to check on ya. I'm gonna head out, see you tomorrow!" Kirishima waves goodbye and dips.

Kai looks back at me and ruffles my hair. "Ready to go home?" she asks sweetly.

"Yeah, let's get out of here," I say as I stand up, head still pounding from being pressed against the concrete by the number 1 hero.

"Okay, let's go," she says with a smile, and holds out her hand for me to hold.

I hesitate for a moment.

She wants me to hold her hand? Through the school? The doors are all the way on the other side of the building! Doesn't she realize that all those people are gonna see us? Is she not embarrassed to be seen with me after I got knocked out cold today?

"Are you just gonna leave me hanging?" she chuckles.

I feel my face begin to flush as I grab her hand. Almost immediately after we walk out the door, the dismissal bell rings, and the hallways flood with people.

To be honest, I'm a little nervous. Kirishima is the only one that knows about me and her, and now everyone is gonna know, all at once? It's a bit overwhelming. I wonder if people are gonna make fun of me, or think that I'm soft because I've got a girl now.

"Glitch-girl?" some random guy stops in his tracks when he sees her.

My grip on her hand tightens. What does this idiot want? I don't like some other guy calling her my name for her. But I guess that is her hero name, and I'll have to get used to that.

"I heard about Snipe!" he chuckles, then holds out his hand and gives her a high-five. "Nice going!"

"All in a day's work," she replies with a shrug as we continue walk by.

I take a second to process, and then it hits me. Holy shit. Everyone is gonna know... that I pulled the hottest, most badass girl in the entire school! Suddenly, I feel a smug smirk plaster itself on my face. I raise my head up high, and walk down the hall like I own the place.

We turn the heads of almost everyone we walk past. We get stares, double takes, one guy even gave me a thumbs up. All I can think is, "Yeah, motherfuckers. I win."
