I wake up with an achingly heavy head, with bright fluorescent lights stinging my eyes.

What the hell happened? Where am I?

As my eyes begin to adjust, I recognize the all too familiar room of the infirmary. The heartbeat I feel in my beaming hand is becoming more and more painful with each throb, and that's when it all comes back to me.

God, I really let that Katsuki get me good, huh? Guess he meant it when he said he'd blow me to bits. I gotta hand it to him, the bastard's pretty damn strong. Intimidating, too. He actually struck fear in my otherwise fearless heart with nothing but a look on his face. That blast, too. As soon as he said "die" like that, I thought I was a goner for real.

I'm sure I'm never gonna hear the end of this from him. I'll have a hard time saying I'm stronger than him when he clearly beat me, in such an epic way, too. I'll get him next time, though. If I hadn't fallen like that, I totally could've taken him. Okay, he can do a 360 with his explosions, noted. I'll just jump on his back next time he pulls that one on me.

But man, I'm not gonna lie, I wish I would've stayed conscious a little longer. Feeling all of his power so close up, it was pretty amazing. Exhilarating. Orgasmic, really.

When Recovery Girl notices that I'm awake, she waddles over to my side. "How do you feel?"

   "Hand hurts."

   "I'm sure. It's a pretty nasty break."

"Why didn't you like, fix it?"

"I was too busy 'fixing' the second degree burns all over your body. And your bursted eardrums. And a pretty decently sized gash on your head."

"Oh. Was it that bad, doc?"

"I've seen worse. But it's probably best to wait a day or two to fix up that hand of yours."

   "Alright," I sigh.

"Knock-knock!" sings the familiar friendly voice of my favorite redhead.

"Kiriii!" I say with a smile.

"I brought friends!" he says, pointing behind him at the hallway full of class 1-A.

The whole class? Is that really necessary?

I clear my throat. "Well, come in, guys," I say, although I'm feeling a bit shy.

As people begin to file in the small room, I realize that every single student in class A came to see me. All except one.

"How ya feelin, Kai?" Kiri says, tilting his head sympathetically.

"Never better," I reply. "Is the sports festival over?"

"Not yet," says Deku. "Kacchan and Todoroki haven't had their fight yet."

"Damn," I sigh. "I shoulda known that's who it'd come down to. Are you pumped, icy hot?"

"I guess," he replies, in a monotone voice. I can tell he doesn't want to be here just as much as I don't want him here.

I smile all friendly. "Well, watch out for that 360 move he's got going on. Shit's no joke."

   "Yeah."

The awkwardness in the air is absolutely killing me. I gotta get them the hell out of here.

I clear my throat. "Um, well, thanks for coming to see me, guys. 'Preciate it."

"Yeah, of course, Kai!" says Uraraka with a kind smile.

"Well, bye," I say, with a friendly salute.
