Chapter seventy-four of 'The Boy In The Basement':

Within minutes, we dropped Dad back off at home so he could sleep for his night shift tonight, and then the three of us went to go pick Niall up. When we stopped in front of his house and beeped the horn, I have never seen him move out through a door before.

Zayn was driving, and Harry was in the front with him. Niall sat in the back with me since we still had Dad's car and not the truck. Niall's cheeks were a rosey red color when he climbed in, slamming the door shut. He wore tan skinny jeans with white Vans, a green JW hoodie. His hand grasped his iPhone, which the screen lite up with a message.

"Hi, guys," he breathed, brushing his hair back with his fingers. The roots of his hair were faintly turning brunette. It's hard to imagine him just full-on brunette. "What are we gonna do today?"

"Well," I said, looking out the window as Zayn began driving off. "I really don't know. But, I do have news."

Niall looked at me with his left eyebrow raised. Zayn and Harry already knew the news. Zayn took a left onto a highway and I tried figuring out where this man was taking us since he hadn't told me. I have no clue if he told Harry.

"My Dad has full custody of me." I told Niall.

"Oh, shit! When did this happen?" asked Niall. I swear I told him.

"A little bit ago. I told everyone what she did to you as well." The happy face of his slowly dispersed.

"Y-you did?" I nodded.

"What did they do?"

"She freaked; she started telling the judge how she was innocent and would never hurt you. Then Dad was very surprised."

Niall kept quiet, nodding his head only slightly, then turning it to watch the cars driving beside us. I sighed, fiddling with my fingers. It was silent; all you heard was the radio playing some song by Ellie Goulding, and the sound of the engine. No one was talking. Harry stared out the window, Zayn drove, Niall was texting, and I was just sitting here. Whatever we are doing, I hope it's fun.

"Bowling?" I asked, getting out of the car and looking up at the sign which was lite up by purple lights. The sun was lowering lower and lower within every five minutes. It was almost 5pm.

"Yup. It sounded fun." Harry said, slamming his door shut, followed by two other doors.

"I suck at bowling, Harry." He didn't seem to care. Harry walked around the car and slid his arm across my shoulders pulling me to his side and connecting his lip to my left temple.

"Oh well, you'll have fun. Besides, that's all that matters, isn't it? It's just a game." I rolled my eyes but didn't protest any further.

Niall seemed very jumpy; like an excited jumpy. I wonder why? I eyed him with suspicion and he just gave me toothy smile which I returned. We walked through the doors and the place was kind of crowded. Kids ran around the small tabes laid out everywhere, while some of the adults bowled and scored turkeys, and the others scolding the kids that you don't run around in a building.

"Let's go get shoes." Zayn suggested. We all agreed, but Niall started walking off somehwere else.

"Um, Niall?" I called out, him throwing a look at me over his shoulder and smiling before continuing on where he was going.

"Don't worry about him love," Harry told me, telling the man his and my shoe size. "Tessa and him were meeting up here."

"Oh," I took my shoes, thanking the man afterwards. "Then why did he ask what we were doing today?"
