Chapter sixty of 'The Boy In The Basement':
Besides the fact that I had accidentally walked into a girl my age because I was talking to Zayn and not paying attention, and spilled my popcorn all over her, the movie was great! I kinda had an idea what was going to happen because I have read the trilogy, and man, it was just amazing.
About the girl, her name is Olive, and she is going to the high school that I'm going to go to. She was really cool about me spilling popcorn all over her ripped jeans. She was really attractive, and Zayn seemed to have his eye on her. She asked if we could maybe hang at school when it started it, and I agreed. Niall is going to be with me already, but it'd be good to have a girlfriend around instead of just guys.
"Thanks for taking me out today," I smiled as we entered his truck. He smiled, starting it up.
"Oh, no problem. I know you needed to get out of that house." he said. I got buckled in with a confused expression.
"Um, I went out last night," I said.
"Like I said." Zayn rolled his eyes. I did the same as he began driving off. We were driving still and ten minutes had passed. And we passed my house seven minutes ago. He hadn't spoken a word so I didn't either. All I did was look out the window to his truck, watching the natural scenery whip past us, letting my mind float with all my empty thoughts.
All I could think about was Harry. He hasn't spoken to me at all today and it was 2pm. Maybe he was sleeping. I know he likes his sleep most days, but not as much as Zayn. Everyone knows not to mess with Zayn while he's in his beauty sleep.
"Where are we going? I'm getting tired of guessing," I sighed, sitting up in my seat at looking over at Zayn. His hair was pulled back into a messy but good looking quiff. He wore light blue jeans, black boats and a black long sleeved shirt. The sleeves were pushed up to his elbows so his tattoos were exposed to the world.
"Just going for a drive," he said to me coolly.
"You know sometimes in scary movies, that's what people say they're doing then they end up killing their passengers. Please tell me one of those movies is not coming to life?" I had hope in my voice and he laughed at me.
"You think everyone is going to kill you, love."
"Well, wouldn't you to when you have a crazy dead psycho after you? And your boyfriend?" I asked, my throat tightening as I spoke each syllable.
"First: I don't have a boyfriend," I rolled my eyes as he continued not even acknowledging this. "Second: you shouldn't be afraid when you're with us."
"It's not that you that I'm afraid of Zayn," I whispered. He looked over to me with a facial expression I could not read.
"Alice, you need to chillax. We all are here for you. We won't let anything happen to you." I nodded, looking out the window once again.
We ended up going a little ways--ten miles to be exact-- out of town to go to Louis's and Niall's house to pick up Niall. I got told that Zayn was taking both of us to get registered for school. Niall told me that Liam told Zayn to make sure we did this today since school starts in a week.
"And after we're done, we can go school shopping! Then maybe get food afterwards." Niall patted his stomach right then as he sat in the middle of Zayn and I in the truck. Zayn sighed, shaking his head while I watched Niall and laughed. At least I won't have a boring person to look after me in school.
"Sure, if you got money." Zayn said. Niall's face went kinda pale then, and I wondered why.
"I thought I was the guest and you were going to buy all the stuff and lunch for me!" Niall punched Zayn's arm, making Zayn jerk the truck sideways a little.
