Chapter sixty-five of 'The Boy In The Basement':

Zayn

Alice should've been home at least twenty minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if she got held up at Harrys'. She proved to me how much she loved him and needed him. Even if she did stay at his place a little longer than intended, she would've texted me I thought. I was wrong.

Maybe she is on her way here right now. When she does get here, I'm going to let it go, because if Perrie was here, and I had to be forbidden to see her like Alice and Harry, I would probably do the same thing. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have my best friend watching me like a ten year old though.

I walk over to the couch and take a seat with my phone in my hand. Constantly, my eyes keep dropping down to it, waiting for the screen to light up with either a text or call from Alice. To try and distract myself for a little while longer, I thought about going to the movies with Alice the other day.

It was that girl who Alice ran into- literally. She was really pretty in my opion. I remember what she looked like so clearly, it was like I stopped that moment to mentally paint a picture of her in my head for furture reference. I'm not one-hundred percent sure on what her name was, but I think it was Olive. Maybe it was because it suited her really well.

She was tall; taller than Alice but shorter than me. I remember her ripped skinny jeans that were soon splattered with popcorn and butter. Her hair was past her shoulders. The color was a dirty blonde color which complimented her bright blue eyes and freckles that scattered her nose and cheeks. They were hard to see from the far. If you were upclose you could definately see them.

I loved Perrie. I still love Perrie, I really do. I haven't seen her in so long though. I know that whever she is, she would want me to move on, and keep my life going. Even though it's already been ended once, I know she'd want me to be happy in my after life. Maybe it is time to start over. To find another special person to call mine. Perrie will never leave my heart.

It's now eleven forty and she still hasn't contacted me whatsoever. Now I'm getting mad. Can't she just listen for once? Is she trying to get herself killed? Now it's time to take matters into my own hands. If she can't be responsable for contacting me when she's with someone she's not suppose to see, then I don't believe she can see him until things blow over.

I dialed Harry's number into my phone then pressed it up to my ear. The constant ringing was giving me a headache.

"Answer the fucking phone," I said to myself. The rings kept going on and on and on forever; almost like when you're waiting for your food at a resturuant. Takes forever but slowly it gets to you just like Harry finally answered his phone.

"Mate, I was trying to fucking sl--" I knew what he was trying to say but I cut him off not thinking about it all the way.

"Tell Alice to get her ass home now." I growled. Rustling in the background was heard as Harry let out a yawn.

"She left almost an hour ago. Does she drive that slow? I don't think it's Sunday." I'm not laughing at his jokes. He's laughing amongest himself though.

"Harry, shut the hell up! Where is she? Seriously, if she's with you just tell her to--"

"Zayn, she seriously isn't here. She left to go home."

"She never texted me or called me when I specifically told her to when she was leaving your place."

"Shit," he said. I chewed on my bottom lip, agreeing with him. What if something bad happened to her? Dammit, I knew I shouldn't of let her go!

"I'll be over in a few minutes." I didn't give time to let him answer as I closed the phone call and grabbed my keys, making my way out the door.

"Take me to church I'll woreship like a dog--" I turned down the music as I drove up into the motel parking lot. I made sure to keep an eye out for Alice on my way here but I saw nothing. Within each passing second, my heart keeps beating faster and faster like a bomb waiting to go off.

Before I head out of the truck, I look down at my phone going through Harry's and I's conversation because he told me what room he was. After I got the number, I shut off my phone and open the door. I stopped half way after closing the door because Harry was already making his way toward me.

"Get in the truck now, we're getting Niall and Louis and I'll text Liam what's going on." I did as I told and went back into my truck. Thank gosh heat doesn't escape vehicles easily.

"Who are we picking up first?" I shove the keys into the ignition and turn them so the truck coughs to start. Damn this cold.

"Niall, since he's closest. Then Louis. If Liam cares, maybe he'll drive down here even though it's almost an hour away,"

"Okay, text them all that's going on then." But Harry was already on it.

"Is she okay?" Niall asked as he climbed into the truck, pushing Harry into the seat next to me. I look at Niall and into his eyes. It looks like he's been crying. Maybe this situation has gotten him worried? I don't know but I know we don't have time to ask what's going on.

"We don't know, dumbass." Harry snapped, his face glowing from the light on his phone.

"Harry, be nice. He cares about her as much as we do, okay?" I nudge him hard in the arm. I see him rub his arm and give Niall an apologetic look.

"Sorry, Niall. I'm just worried about her." Niall nods his head and straps the seat belt across his body and buckles it. Then he looks forward, his lips tugging down into a sad frown and watches his house as he drive off.

Next is Louis who we pick up. We have to make room for him because my truck is only a three seater. So Louis has to sit kind of on Niall and Harry. Louis told us how Bethany was sleeping and he felt bad for leaving her.

"Louis, I think she'll understand." Harry told Louis. Niall agreed on this while I looked forward. I don't know where we're going now, and Harry hasn't told me anything. But his phone just went off with a ding. It is quiet for a minute or so before he opens his mouth to speak.

"Liam is apparently almost here," his voice holds surprisement.

"What the hell, how?" I ask.

"He's taking back roads so he can speed." I nod at this because it makes perfect sense.

"Where are we meeting up?"

"The back of Alice's house." I don't know why, and I just listen to him.
